Lazy Work and Horrible Customer Service Last October I had a zone go out and Discount Sprinkler repaired it to get my system up and running. When I turned my system back on in late May I noticed the zones were not working again. At that same time I noticed an exposed low voltage wire in our sloped side bed so we made a point to mention to the tech when he came out on Friday, May 31. He told my wife the wire had become disconnected and to be very careful as the connection is very sensitive. Furthermore he charged us for labor when I called originally the receptionist noted it would be a warranty visit. When I came home that same wire was still exposed and in the process of doing the right thing of burying the wire the zones once again lost power. I called first thing Monday AM and spoke to the receptionist and she said she would let the owner know. I explained to her we just planted $800 worth of plants and were leaving town on Thursday PM so getting our system up and running was vital. After no call back I left a message Tuesday early afternoon. I then called another vendor Wednesday AM after I still did not get a call back. The new vendor was able to come out on Thursday. He ran a new line to be efficient with time, and this time buried it in the grass as he said he avoids beds since they are susceptible to erosion so not the best area to bury wire. After I returned from my trip I was finally able to connect with the owner (Richard) on June 12 (I called him BTW…still no call back from my outreach). He said he would connect with his tech. After no reply I texted Richard on June 17 and he replied the tech was not familiar with the job. To help expedite I texted pics of my house plus the 2 Discount Sprinkler invoices and the 2nd vendor’s invoice (so he could see I hired someone to fix their poor workmanship). Still nothing. Fast forward to July 19 after numerous follow ups on my end and Richard finally said the May 31 visit was not in fact a warranty visit and that he would not reimburse for the labor from that visit. Oh, he offered a credit for a tune up in the future, but clearly having Discount Sprinkler come work on my system was not anything I would consider. All that said it is beyond crazy how poor of a service Discount Sprinkler provided. The lazy job back in October is one thing, but to not fix that wrong on the May 31 visit (if a wire is so sensitive why on earth leave it exposed in a bed where there is obvious foot traffic?), and still charge me is absurd. In the end I would have been content if he credited back the $148 in labor for the May 31 visit to help offset the 2nd vendor’s labor, but alas he did not. Perhaps Richard will one day care about customer service and doing the right thing when issues arise. Until then I would think twice before using Discount Sprinkler.

A time was set two days out. The repairer called ahead and actually came early. The repair was done in 1 hour ,however the repairer used my sawsall and blades since his had a dead battery. Work was done well as far as I can tell and I was glad to loan my equipment to make the job easier and faster. I feel the price was too high mainly in the very high cost charged for parts. $7.90 for a little glue and $4.50 each for fittings and $2.00 for a foot of pipe. Labor seems reasonable at $124.00 for 1 1/4 hours.

They were good. He came out fairly quickly and did the job. It wasn’t his fault, but we had to call him back and he came back and he charged $99 just for the service call and anything extra was extra and I thought that was a little high price. Other than that, he arrived and fixed it quickly and it works. So, I guess my only negative is I thought, or maybe it was $100, it was either $99 or $100 he charged just for a service call and I thought that was a little steep, but other than that he came out and did the work and overhauled our, I don’t know my husband would have to tell you all that he did, but he came out the first time and saved us money. Then he came back and repaired what didn’t work and that was okay too. It turns on the water automatically. You can program it to turn on the water how many times a week and how much and how many hours. Basically, the old one was 15 or 16 years old and just started to wear out and we bought a new one from him and he installed it.

He fixed it the first time, but one part of it didn’t work, so we called him back. Then he came back and within 10 minutes fixed it again. He got here and he fixed it.

The work was completed and payment was received without my having to be there. Great service!

The person I contacted in their office called the technician and asked him to come right over once his latest job was finished; he arrived soon thereafter. Although I knew next to nothing about our sprinkler system, the technician identified the cause of the problem and fixed it immediately. Everyone I spoke with was cheerful and professional.

Mike did a great job. Worked quickly, addressed everything in a little over an hour.

I was very pleased with the service that I received! Ronnie, the tech that did the work, was professional and very efficient. He was on time and went right to work. He also checked out all the zones to make sure they were working properly, capped off two heads that I requested, and checked the system's control unit. He added a battery so that if the electricity went out the program would not be lost. I will use them for any future sprinkler needs and highly recommend this company.

Let me start by saying, I will NEVER do my own work again! Chris has expertise, exceptional work ethic and great customer service skills. A fair price with phenomenal work! Chris arrived promptly and got to work. Using electronic sensors he found, marked and rebuilt the buried electronic valve. He replaced some four pop up nozzles. He ran a complete system check of the irrigation system. We have a raised garden bed and some of my popup sprinklers arch high. When there is a wind, the water gets blown away from the yard. Chris discussed with me low arch nozzles. When he installed them, it was a significant difference. This change will allow me to conserve water and ensure my garden and lawn are being watered properly. At $23 per rotor, it was a bargain! This is perhaps the strongest recommendation I have given for a company. It deserves it. I cannot highly recommend enough. Epilogue: The other company that was recommended by Angie's List, which I contacted at the same time as Discount Service Company, finally gave me an initial contact the day after Discount Service Company completed the work.

There were multiple issues that were resolved quickly for a fair price. I will use them for future irrigation issues.

Mike Blackmon, owner, was out on my job.  One of the reasons I picked this company was that while they only had 27 reviews, ALL 27 were "A" s.  That is pretty exceptional.  Well, after Mike and his helper finished with fixing my entire system I can understand why his company has gotten As every time.  I was very very impressed with how efficiently they did the repairs. One other thing that I noticed of import is that the parts charges seemed very reasonable,(total $52.12).  Looking at the work done above and my guess is that parts would have cost about that much at Home Depot.  Normally businesses will up charge on parts to make a little extra profit. 

Also, I sent a message on Angies list on Sunday and they called Monday (Memorial Day) and came out that morning, arriving within a 30 minute window.  

 These people know the business, that's for sure.  The price was actually a bit lower then I expected for all the work they did.  If I could give them A+ I would.  It's great when you can support a family owned business that does such a great job.

Father and son team were awesome! They were quick to respond to my emergency leak, went above and beyond finding and fixing problems. Walked me through the process and all problems they saw/found. Both men were very knowledgeable, respectful, personable, friendly and professional. Very happy with their service and will definitely call back for any other issues we have with our irrigation system and will recommend to family and friends.

The technician showed up exactly at the time he said he would and quickly identified a problem in a recent sprinkling line rerouting job that I had performed a week earlier. Once he made the repair, he checked each zone and also found a leak in one of the zones that was very weak. This repair energized sprinkler heads that I didn't even know were there. He also changed out a sprinkler head that was not functioning properly. I was pleased with the cost of the time spent (~1.5 hrs) and the work performed.

Fast, friendly, efficient and good communication.
Cost was more than reasonable and provider was not pushy on suggested improvements.
Will definitely use again.

Discount Service Company came out on short notice, on a Saturday and fixed a burst sprinkler pipe, under my driveway, that was spewing water everywhere.  The work was accomplished in short order at a very reasonable price. The workers were prompt, professional, extremely pleasant and knew their business. I had never used them before but will call on them to handle
all sprinkler repairs in the future. Believe me, these are good people!

Just one person came out he was here maybe thirty minutes. He was good, he diagnosed the problem very quickly, and even ran checks for our system replacing a head or two to make sure it ran smoothly.
