About us

We create completely custom home plans for new construction and remodel projects that are tailored to each client. Our plans are created by a registered interior designer, subject to the rules and regulations of the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners. Direct Home Design was formed in 2009 to meet the needs of clients in the Dallas & Fort Worth, TX area who desire a direct connection with their designer and a truly individualized experience in plan creation. Our company owner and lead designer, Wendy Bohannon, graduated from Texas Tech in 1992 with a bachelor degree in Interior Design and has been working in various fields of architectural and interior design ever since. Her specialty is space planning and her extensive practical know-how has proved invaluable in helping clients think through their usage from the inside out. Wendy’s passion is helping clients discover their own style and realize their new or re-designed home really can be exactly as they have dreamed.

Wendy took all of the items and ideas we wanted in our new home and brought everything together into the house plans and home we live in today. This was no small undertaking. My Wife and I had collected many desired features from our life experience and observations, when we were guests in other's homes and home tours as well as years of research of decorator/homebuilding print publications and websites. Then, we told her we wanted no wasted space and all in a single story and she delivered. To accomplish this, it took time and patience and Wendy was very responsive and creative. Our home has become a show house for our builder and Wendy is now a part of their team, as a result.



Today, I've asked that she design my landscape and I have no doubt she will again deliver quality ideas for a stunning finished product.

Wendy provided professional and very helpful service. She explained every step of the process thoroughly and gave useful advice for the completion of our plans.
