I understand the concrete delivery was not Jeffs fault, but maybe you should try a different company!
They were on time and did good work
Both my family and our neighbors are very satisfied with the end result. We highly recommend Diamond should you need a new fence.
And by the way, the customer is a retired fencer. Great work! :)
"This is a job we did back in the Spring, some concrete work and some fence work. About 25k in total. Due to several factors, some related to the permitting through the city of Dallas, some related to the customer only wanting us to work on certain days, some related to different skillsets needed (concrete crews are not fence crews), the job took several weeks. At the end the customer didn't like an handful of boards and insisted she was not going to pay for the 15k worth of fence work. While it is common to not pay a contractor upfront, it is not acceptable to not pay at all. Secondly, you have to understand what you are buying. A fence is aesthetically pleasing, provides security and privacy. But it is also an exterior wood product. It is not flawless like a piano or cabinetry work. The wood grade is different. So the idea that you don't owe 25k due to you not liking a handful of boards is not an acceptable reason. I agreed that she could withhold $400 in payment, and we would come back and replace the boards. She agreed. I've sent multiple emails to this customer trying to schedule that replacement work, and she has never responded. Today, we still have a $400 invoice open for her, which we most likely will eventually turn off to a collection agency. She received a high quality fence that I would be proud to show a new prospective customer as a example of the quality of work we are able to produce. At the end of the day, a relationship between a customer and a contractor is a two way street. Her view of the relationship between her and her contractor (us) is skewed only in her favor. We do expect to get paid. Kenny Hill, President Diamond Fence & Concrete."
When they washed off the excess second color it was really the wrong color (miscommunication on how to mix the color). So they could not finish, they came back on Thursday and removed the walkways, put down the forms again. Then informed me they could not get cement until the following Monday. On Monday they came mixed the base color into the cement and then poured into the frames. Put
the second color on top, and stamped it. They came the next day and washed off the second color. One walkway was noticeably darker than the other due to being in the sun. They came back and acid washed the dark one until it was closer to the other walkway.
They told me because of all the trouble they would seal the walkways and pool deck for me at no charge. I said OK. That was a
mistake on my part. It made the pool deck too slippery. They were very kind and came back and put on another coat of sealer on to the pool deck that had sand like particles.
Once the process began they kept in contact with me. And were very apologetic. I have 3 large dogs and this was an inconvenience to have to walk them instead of letting them out the back door. The color is not perfect but close
enough. The only other thing is that since the work was done my sprinklers in that area did not work at all. I had a sprinkler company come out and repair 6 breaks in the wiring for the sprinkler system.
They did try to make things right. All is well and the yard looks good.
