The price of their work is a little high (in my opinion), but for the speed and quality you get, it's well worth it - which is why we called them back after the last job they did for us. The warranty on their fences can be up to 25 years, and that makes me VERY happy.
When they finished I thought I would pick up some odds and ends, but they had left my yard spotless.
DFW Fence deserves the "Best Job Ever! " reward.
The quality of materials and workmanship was super. I even gave each worker a tip.
I would definitely use DFW Fencing again.
Thanks again for a great job.
Fast forward to July 2014, I called Marcus for a couple of service-repair items (not related to construction of fence) and he sent his crew to address my needs. The crew leader was Joe, and he did a fantastic job in repairing my gate that was damaged due to pool construction. It looks brand new again and the fence itself looks as good as the day it was installed. I believe the individually dipped pickets make a huge difference in appearance and durability. I definitely recommend DFW Fence Contractor to everyone I can!!
The fence looks good. Totally disagree with the grade of the material used. I was told with a #1 grade that the knot sizes would be about the size of the tip of my pinky finger. I was at work when the fence was installed. (Totally my fault) When I complained about the fence grade. I was told that's not what I was told. Honestly pinky finger isn't a term that I would have come up with on my own. Trust me. The material that I received has numerous large knots. The material could very well be #1 grade. It's just not what I was told it would be when I was given the estimate. If I had been told that it would have all the knots. I would have gone with the clear grade. Why would we put up a 8' board on board fence, if its going to end up with peep holes.
When I posted my original review. On Angie's list. They contractor phoned me to find out why I gave them such a bad review. (originally I didn't leave any comments) So I told him. Then he told me that I didn't pay for the #1 grade. It would have cost $2. a foot more. That's strange because I have the contract right in front of me. (#1 grade, remove existing posts w/ concrete)
We paid to have the old posts removed including the concrete. It's on the contract. They didn't remove the posts below the ground level or the concrete. They just cut them off just below the ground level. Then covered them up with dirt. When I noticed that they had not been removed. They said they would come back out to remove them. The only problem with that is that they said the would have to take the fence down. Not the posts of course. We just had the fence put up, so we didn't want any of the pickets pried off. So we told them to leave it alone.
If the material would have been as it was described too me and the posts had been removed instead of hidden. I would have given them a much better grade.
"After the proof has been sent to the home owner there is still a question of the quaility of board that was purchased. The home owner here also has been given both reciepts from two different suppliers of ours. The first reciept is were we went to our supplier to by the # 1 grade picket at Jamieson Fence Supply. The other is were we purchased the post , concrete and fittings at Master Halco. We offered again three years later to the home owner to go back and remove any posts that we left. The interesting thing about this is that we just installed his neighbors fence on the other side of the alley from him. When i went to the appointment the new client asked me to look at his neighbors fence that was built 3 years ago. The new client and i walked the old job that i did for his neighbor and he wanted the same thing. Our new client said that the 3 year old fence we built has not even faded, no knot holes falling out, and has no lean to it. He wanted one just like that. We do quality work and stand behind it. If the client want a better grade like Clear it would have been $8 more per foot at that time. Everything that was on our contract 3 years ago was honored and again 3 years later was honored again. I ask one question. Have you ever had a contractor offer to repair something 3 years later on a contract? Where were these complaints or descripences when we asked for finial payment. Every home owners has the right to hold payment until the job is complete. Why were we paid if the job was not quailty work?"
First, let me start off by saying that their work and their prices are unbeatable! Our fence looks amazing, and for how much we had done, the price just couldn't be better.
But, let me say that we did try to contact Marcus several times, and he never returned our calls. Like, not ever. We had some questions about our invoice, about job finish times, etc... and he never contacted us back. Additionally, when they needed to stain some panels, they did not use tarps, and it made a mess on several parts of our lawn. Rather than removing our old posts (we had our fence line extended) they just broke them at ground level and left them - which isn't a huge deal, but it left the partially broken posts exposed, and our dog has been chewing on them.
I would certainly recommend DFW Fence Contractors, and we will use them again in the future. Their quality and prices are excellent, but it did come with a few disappointments.
cedar fence part but the company handled it professionally and fixed it
immediately to our complete satisfaction. Our only gripe would be a
custom iron drain area built under a part of the cedar fence to allow
for water drainage had the rails all at different sizes. Wish the
custom part had the iron equally spaced. We did accept it and did not
ask for it to be replaced. We would use them again.
