Drain Cleaning
He was excellent. We've used them before but it was ages ago. Their service is still as good as it was in the past. Their price was reasonable. They were early for their appointment. They are very honest and do a good job. They never try to sell their services and take your money. They do just what needs to be done.

I have used Benton Plumbing for a few years, so when my old sump pump died in March of 2015, I called them to replace it. Ray came out promptly and did so. The problem is that you can't really tell if an outdoor pump is working properly unless it really rains. The pump seemed to be working when tested with a hose, but when it was really pouring rain, it didn't work. To make a long story short, over the course of a year, Ray installed 3 different pumps (all the same brand) and none of them worked when it rained. Robert Benton came out himself on the third one, because this was just baffling. I don't know who he consulted, but he then sent Ray out with a 4th pump (different brand). It has now been a few weeks and it has rained several times. This pump works perfectly! I'm always satisfied with their work, but this time these guys were up against it, and they persisted until the problem was solved. That is really standing behind behind your work.

If it had been any other plumber, it would have been at least $8,000 to $10,000, and they did it for $2200. They had to go through my foundation inside and outside the house, all the way up to the lavatory. They installed a back-up and a brand new commode. They drilled it up, replaced everything up to about 3 foot outside the house. It was pouring down rain, and the poor guys (there were like 6 of them), worked through it like little ants. It was amazing to see them work. My house was built in '57, and it had concrete which had collapsed, so everything was just laying there, it was horrible. My brother in law had been using them for over a year, and when I told him I needed a plumber, he told me how fair they were. They'd even come out and done stuff for him without even charging, just little stuff. It's unbelievable what they did for the amount of money, which was including the bathtub and the new commode. They did the sewer line, the knobs that hook onto the bathtub, new drains for everything and the plumbing for the bathtub. They're friendly, honest, they clean up after themselves. There was nothing bad about it. It was the most pleasant experience I've had. It took about eight hours, and they did have to come back the next day to put in the commode, but they had to wait for the concrete to dry up.

Plumbing, Drain Cleaning
I hired Benton Plumbing to clean out a sewer drain line to my septic tank. When I called them, I told them it was roots in the line and that they would have to go through the vent on top of the house since I was not able to locate a sewer cleanout. I knew this was the issue since I had the same problem a year ago and the symptoms were exactly the same and going
through the vent pipe on the roof was how it was handled. The person that I normally use for sewer line cleanout and who took care of it the previous time was unavailable for a week and a half and I didn’t want to wait that long since the line was completely blocked. So I called Benton Plumbing. The morning that they were scheduled to come the dispatcher called me and confirmed the time they would be there and that it was a roof job. When the technicians arrived, they immediately went to the kitchen cleanout and said that they would go through there. Obviously, you cannot cleanout roots from a sewer line by going through a small diameter kitchen cleanout since you need a cutter blade on your line to get out the roots and a kitchen
line cleanout auger is too small for a sewer line cutter blade. They then went to where I had been digging out the sewer line to try and find a cleanout, and after a few minutes of digging down to the line they told me that they would chisel a hole in the top
of the line and clean it out from there, and then wrap it in lead tape. I said no, because then I would have another
spot where roots would get in. The guy then told me that he didn’t want to get on the roof because he could fall and
get hurt. I asked him how much it would be to install a cleanout in the line and he said he thought it would be around
$450 which was a ridiculous price. I finally reminded them that I told them it was a roof job, they knew it, and to clean it out from the roof vent or leave. This roof is on a cabin and has a shallow slope in only one direction with no peaks or valleys so it is not very dangerous to get on. He finally got on the roof with his small kitchen auger. I asked them if they had a sewer auger with a cutter blade which they did not. I finally called the dispatcher and told them that they did not have the right equipment for the job and that they needed to come back with the right equipment. The dispatcher said that the sewer auger was on another truck. While I was talking to the dispatcher, the technician was on the roof trying to clean it out with the small kitchen auger which didn’t work as he should have known. When the dispatcher called him to tell him to leave, he did use some profanity which I didn't appreciate. They never sent another truck out with the right equipment. I ended up waiting for my regular guy, Pete DeSousa, owner of Pete’s Plumbing, who came out, cleaned out the line, and installed a cleanout the right way by concreting it in. Pete told me that roots would eventually get through a clamped in cleanout and he had been doing it the way he did mine for 25 years without any issue. He charged me $60 to install the cleanout.

My toilet has been wobbly for some time. I had a handy-man come out about a year ago to look at it and he spent a great deal of time to tell me it couldn't be fixed permanently without major work by a plumber as the anchor bolts were broken off at the foundation. The handyman charged me $100 to do a patch job which lasted only a month or two and this time it caused a small leak at the base. The leaking stopped and because of his dire predictions I didn't call a plumber immediately as I wasn't sure I could afford to take care of a big plumbing bill at the time. Finally, I decided to get this taken care of and called Benton Plumbing. I prefer to use local services whenever I can so I was glad to get on Angie's List and see that they had a positive rating. I was able to make an appointment for the following week and he was here right on time. He took the time to show me where the base was broken off and explained he would need to go get some parts and would be back to finish the job. He was finished with the entire project in less than 90 minutes and only charged me $190 for everything. I was thrilled to have this job finally finished and done right and for a very fair price. I won't hesitate to call him again if I ever have any more plumbing issues.

We called Benton Plumbing on Monday morning about 9:00 and they came out that afternoon. They quickly located the supply line leak in the front yard and fixed it with no issues at all. The job was done quickly at reasonable price and cleaned up very nicely. We will definitely use Benton Plumbing in the future.

2 workers sent to locate and repair gas leak at hot water heater tank. Replaced old valve fitting and left. Detected gas smell next day/s and called again. Mr Benton came out himself and located gas leak in flexible supply hose to tank. He went to local hardware store and bought a replacement, as he did not have one on his truck. Our friends had used Benton before. Mr Benton came out to prepare estimate for a whole-house conversion from galvanized to PEX, before the gas leak. It took a while to get the estimate from him, a couple of weeks, and it took a while to receive a bill.
