I really liked the fellow the Mike sent out to do the work, Roger Dale Martin, but unfortunately Roger passed on a week or so after the job was completed. My condolences to Mike and the Albee Brothers corporate family.
I will use Mike the next time I have a big project.
went will except a follow up was never completed.
I was disappointed, when we received the quote in February, the quote said money due at completion. I was under the assumption that it would be no money down (all other contractors put what was required down, on their quotes). I was always told not to pay contractors before any work. So this is one of the reasons I picked the Allbee Bros. When we went to sign the contact they wanted half down. We told them we wasn't comfortable, so they said they would work with us and allowed us to give them 25%. We signed a contract with them mid-April. The day they came to pick up the down payment check for the job, they texted at 6am and said they were in the area and could pick up the check within the hour. They arrived around 10am. We weren't exactly pleased with this because I was in labor and getting ready to go to the hospital. We didn't tell them about me being in labor but they did say that we could leave the check on our porch or mailbox and they would pick it up. But we didn't feel comfortable leaving a $1,000.00 or more check laying around outside.
Then they said the job would start on such and such day. The day came and went. We would call and follow up and they said an existing job was running over. I believe our job started a week later than originally planned. They would never call to status us, we were always calling to inquire as to why they hadn't shown up, as promised. The job finally started... It started on a Thursday and last almost a week. Where they said it would be a 2-3 day project. Each day 1-2 people would show up between 10am-noon and work until 4pm. I believe if they would have sent more people and worked a full 8 hours the job would have been completed within the agreed upon time. Work crew was polite and friendly and tried to be extremely conscience (noise wise) that we had a newborn.
Had a couple issues after the completion of the project. They came out the following day to address those issues. However they promised to show up at 730am and showed up at 1130am. They did text at 8am saying they got caught up and were just leaving. They spent the time showing us how to use the system and was very personable. Job finished mid-May. When leaving they said they have a plot of our property and will send it to us within a few days, so we will be able to provide for any work done on our property in the future. That promise was made mid-May and it's now mid-July and we have not received the plot. We continue to follow up every couple weeks as to the status. Most of the time our calls go un answered. One of two times, we were told they were extremely busy and would have it to us by the end of the week. However today, we were told that we were lucky to be getting it at all, and that most companies charge $500 for the plot. And that maybe he should stop being so nice and start charging people for it. So I highly doubt that we will ever receive this plot.
We left town, for 10 days, the day after the system was installed. We didn't want to do this, in case there was issues, but delay after delay in their schedule, caused this. Low and behold, we came back and our yard was soggy and water was running down the street. We had the system set to off, while we were gone, so the system was not running. The system was leaking. We called them when we realized this, it was 6pm during a weekday. We left a message. We received a text message at 6am the following morning on how to shut the water off on the system. They said they would be out the following day to fix. They did come out to fix the issue. However, our water bill was double what it normally was (with being gone for 10 days). We decided it wasn't worth the fight, that they had worn us down completely and we just paid our water bill.
But we have a sprinkler system, our yard is beautiful and we will probably never receive that plot.
"There is nothing more gratifying than our customers showing their appreciation for our work. This is why we do what we do!"
