Everything was done correct and the wait time was about 40 mins from the time I arrive to the time I left.

It went well. They were very informative throughout the entire process. They inspected the vehicle and provided an estimate within a day. Their estimate was exactly what the cost to repair ended up being. Upon completion of the repair and picking up of the vehicle they asked me to come back in 7 days so they could look everything over one last time. When I came back I mentioned that it was shifting awkwardly through some gears. They said they would be happy to adjust the shift points, which they did for no additional charge. It has been running great every since.

This suburban has about 202k miles on it and this is the first time I've ever had transmission problems.  The transmission never stopped shifting, but began to emit a noise that sounded like a warped brake rotor whenever it was engaged.  I drove it for another week while determining when and where I would have it serviced.  Three thousand dollars is more than I had anticipated to pay for this, but this establishment already had decent ratings from several other members and I would always recommend a transmission specialist for transmission rebuilds.
A reconditioned torque converter was installed ($395) along with many other parts.  The total for the 16 hours labor was $1516 and the total for parts was $1593.  Including tax, the total was $3290.39, but I drive my vehicles as long as possible and since this vehicle has been paid off for a long time and the engine and other drive train components are still in good condition and the vehicle itself is in good shape, I prefer spending the money on a transmission rebuild rather than having car payments.
The service comes with a 12 month / 12,000 mile warranty.  Since it is difficult to determine the long term viability of a rebuilt transmission, I will attempt to update this review in about a year.

My transmission just stopped working after picking my son up from a friends house. I went to Aamco the next day and they arranged to have the car towed to their facility. they contatced me and explained that it would require them to remove the transmission to determine the exact issue. They did so and explained that it need a "soft" rebuild. I approved the estimate and they had the repair complete in a timely manner. I returned after two weeks for a follow up inspection as recommended and they were fast efficient in completing it and getting me on my way.

Initial filter was defective and caused transmission not to operate correctly.  Defective filter was replaced and transmission works great.
We have since used them to replace the motor mounts on the same vehicle.
