laundry).....we had already had a plumber come out and thought that he had
removed the clog. He told us that if it backed up again, we would need for
somebody to go down our pipes with a camera. So, it backed up again, we called
JWB services after a reference from a co-worker of mine.
A few nights later, I get home from work, and these two guys are in a bathroom,
toilet off of the floor, "scoping" the pipes with a camera. My wife
was at home and wants them to explain to me what is wrong. One of the guys is
going through our den and marking spots on the floor. He also has some sort of
sonar device that can measure the depth of the pipes under our slab foundation?
Hence, he explains to me that they would need to have about a sixty foot long
area in our foundation dug up remove the old pipe, as we have a
"negative" flow (slope) in our pipes, causing the backup. This
evaluation cost us $150.00. However, something told me there was something
wrong with this. I could not pinpoint it, but that it was not right. At this
same time, we were dealing with a claim on our roof for a complete replacement,
very hectic around our home.
The same day the insurance adjuster came out to inspect our roof, Jeff Black
came out to give me a second opinion on the plumbing problems. He said they
could break through the wall (laundry room), bypass the old pipes and run a new
run from the laundry room to our septic system? I was even more confused. He
mentioned that he "does not work on homes in this area" because of
their shoddy construction, in not so many words. I am not sure why that comment
was thrown in there. We live in a Custom Built home on a 1.5 acre lot. Maybe
not everything is perfect, but we own it now and cannot change some things
about it.
We continued to use a neighbor?s washing machine, until one day, I asked my
wife to ask at our Church if any of our friends knows a good plumber. We found
a church member who is a Master Plumber, he came out. I showed him the video
(JWB Services provided us a copy). he had the same questions I had, why did
they only go out six (6) feet until they ran into clean, milky looking (laundry
soap) water? After many questions from him and some more evaluating, he figured
out we had a really bad clog on our main line.
He came back the next day. About two hours? worth of work and he had the
problem resolved, From our perspective, JWB services was looking for a way to
make some big money from us, and for that, no I would never recommend this
company to anybody. To try to take advantage of anybody goes against my belief
of Integrity first, honor and doing what you know to be right.
