Great service! We got a quick turnaround and got timely communication throughout. I'm a Realtor and I was representing the seller in a transaction when we found out mold remediation was needed. We needed it done right and quickly to meet our closing date. Valeria was on top of the project the entire time and followed up frequently. It was a great experience. I would definitely use them again.

IAQM up and down the line were polite, professional, responsive, thorough, did quality work, and were reasonably priced. Can't ask for much more from a contractor. We had Jack-And-Jill bathroom with a bath/toiled common area and a bathtub with a leaky drain. Water accumulation caused mold to grow under the tub and up two of the three alcove walls and into one of the side rooms. They came out and quoted the work, gave us a work plan, followed it to a 'T', then gave us some hints on things we could do during the rebuild. Their work passed post-inspection on the first pass. Very helpful.

IAQM was very helpful in taking care of our needs with sealing the boots and plenum and remove all the mold from our hvac system. They were very prompt and explained everything to us that they would be doing that day. They were very professional and so polite. When I would call the office to set up the appointment or have any questions they were very prompt in responding. I can not say enough on how pleased I am.

They were very concerned with air quality and bagged all insulation in the attic before it was removed.  They created plastic walls to isolate areas that they were working in.  I was impressed

I SO appreciate that they didn't just come in and patch the ceiling and move on!  They were so thorough about making sure the leak was addressed.  And the drywall/texture/painter guy was just AMAZING!  You cannot tell at all where the patch is.  Everything was done in a timely manner, the supervisor checked on the work often, and when they were done, they cleaned up everything beautifully.  They worked long hours to get the job done.  These are just stellar people!!!

I cannot say enough good things about this company. This is our lake home where we do not reside. We gave them a key to the house and they took care of everything. They removed drywall and cabinets and the mold. The affected area was completely sealed off from the rest of the house and machines placed in the house to clean the air. The garage was also done. These are very professional people who explained every step to us and answered all our questions. We knew nothing about this process and had concerns since our grandchildren spend a great deal of time at the house and I was getting sick every time we visited. Everything was done on schedule and cleanup was amazing. I was so impressed I thought I would ask them for a referral of a contractor to do the repairs and found out the second owner of this business was a contractor. He gave me an estimate and showed me pictures of his work. We not only hired him to do the repairs but had him screen our deck so we could sit out at night. The repairs were done so well and cleanup was exceptional! The screened deck turned out so beautiful and we love being able to be out at night.

Willie Grubaugh, part-owner of IAQM, served as general contractor for our home repairs after it was affected by a tornado. He claimed he was not a "storm chaser", yet he contacted us only 24 hours after the tornado. After growing concern over the route by which our chimney flue was being repaired, the extremely poor quality of painting that was performed, and witnessing a long list of damages that occurred to parts of our home that were not damaged by the tornado, we halted work and began a thorough investigation of the status of our home. In the roofing portion of the contract, we paid for rafters and decking to be replaced which were not performed. We also paid for drip edge to be replaced, but it was not. This is insurance fraud. The chimney that was installed on our roof was not secured and rocked to touch. The drywall over our fireplace was replaced and painted prior to the new chimney flue being installed. We were concerned about the chimney work passing inspection.  What we found out after the fact is that the chimney would never be inspected, because our contractor IAQM did not take out the proper permits to do the work.  The items mentioned above were considered "work complete" and were paid in full.  We had quite a bit of water damage inside our walls due to rain after the tornado coming through areas where our roof was missing. Wet drywall was pulled as well as insulation. New insulation was placed with drywall over it, texture added, and painted. All without another permit that should have been obtained for the insulation. We now have to pull all areas where drywall was replaced in order to have the insulation inspected, and have the work performed yet again.  The paint job that was done in our home was very amateur.  It was originally done by Mr. Grubaugh (who had only been with working as a Contractor for 14 months) and his wife (a teacher who had just left the teaching profession 3 months before picking up a paint brush), neither of which are professional painters to my knowledge. Yet they charged us over $7,200 for painting a 1,500 square foot home!! He explained that he had to paint multiple coats, yet we found paint cans in our living room which represented the absolute cheapest version of paint you can purchase at Lowe's (rental property grade).  Even though we were told that they would be using Sherwin Williams paint!  During this $7200 paint job, they violated electrical code by painting over absolutely EVERYTHING electrical in our home. Every outlet (many of them are frozen - the plug holes are filled with paint, and GCFI outlet breakers are frozen), every light switch, our entire security system including sensors and motion detectors, light fixtures, ceiling fans, windows, kitchen cabinets, cable outlets, telephone outlets, air vents, thermostat, all have paint on them! Everything electrical has to be replaced now. During the painting phase, the painters washed their equipment and brush in our sinks and tubs which means our water supplies now all have to be replaced. This also left paint stains in our tub and sinks. We had custom crown molding throughout the living area, dining room and kitchen. It was removed and reset, but during the removal it was left laying throughout the house on the floor. It is now damaged in multiple areas with cracks, broken portions that are missing, and a corner piece that was put in that doesn't even match. A long piece of trim is missing from our kitchen cabinets.  The contractor damaged our hall bathtub in two places and "repaired" it in a way that the damage is still visible because of an amateur patch job. Subcontractors broke our front door handle so our front door is no longer usable. Back to our biggest concern - the chimney. We brought a home forensics specialist in to document the damages. There was no way to know if the chimney flue was installed correctly without breaking into the drywall to see.  Since the flue had to be seen to be inspected, IAQM never intended to have the chimney inspected as they never even took out a permit for the work (which I verified with the city of Rowlett). Once we broke open the drywall, the work appeared to be a patch job of old and new parts. There was no insulation installed on the outside wall. The component that were installed were not performed to code and would not have passed inspection.  Our chimney was deemed a fire hazard that would also leak carbon monoxide into our home.  In summary, i would definitely NOT recommend anyone from IAQM for home repairs. This company does not have the knowledge required to perform home repairs safely or in a quality fashion. They charged us for work they didn't perform, work of very poor quality, and most importantly work that would make our home unsafe to live in.  We not only have to have ALL WORK performed all over again, we also have to have damage they caused to our home repaired!!  We should have been home within just a couple months. But instead this disaster is causing our family of 5 to be out of our home more than twice as long as we should have ever been and we are about $30,000 in the negative right now yet the number grows more every day as we continue to account for all of the damage they have caused!!!!
Response from IAQM LLC

"I am aware of how bad the above review sounds. It was written with the intent to make us sound horrible. And it does. Take the tub for instance. If they wrote "IAQM damaged my tub in two places, attempted to repair it, it looked even worse but then they offered to replace it.", it just doesn't have the same effect. So they left those parts out. Same with the broken door handle, crown molding corner piece, etc.. They went from a happy client one day to a demand letter for $30,000 the next day. This demand occurred right after the clients were asked for the next installment of their payment that was due. Some of the complaints in this review are indeed valid. The work performed by our roofing and drywall subcontractors was not up to par. We have already spoken with the City of Rowlett regarding the permits and the work does not have to be completely ripped out and redone. The deficiencies have to be corrected and inspected. Our quote did not specify a paint type/brand. We have it in writing that they picked colors from Sherwin Williams but we were matching them at Lowe's. The paint budget/pricing isn't set by us, it was set by their insurance summary. Most of the items they claim were painted over were being discarded and replaced as part of the project, yet our company is being asked to compensate for them. The electrical outlets, covers, light fixtures, and windows were all being replaced with new. Since they have broken off all communication with us, we have submitted a request through our attorney to have a neutral third party fairly assess any damages and come to a settlement. There has been no response to our attempt at mediation. This has been a tough situation for us. In 15 years of business, our company has never had a bad review or a complaint. We place a high value on customer satisfaction and exceeding expectations. I hope any potential customer reading this will take into account our ENTIRE 15 year history of satisfied customers."

We had a leak in our upstairs shower due to a faulty valve (Made in
China).  The leak was between the walls and was not apparent until we
noticed a stain in the downstairs kitchen ceiling.  We had a plumber
take a look so we knew where it was coming from and then we noticed the
door frame to our bathroom and the tile on the outside corner of the
shower was cracking.   By the weekend my husband had torn the wall out
from our bedroom to get to the leak and then tore a hole in our kitchen
ceiling.  We had water in our kitchen fixture light above the sink.  We
noticed mold/mildew once everything was exposed.  Feeling nervous about
it we found IAQM on Angies list and spoke to Katie.  This was on a
Sunday! They work 24/7 365 days.   She gave us facts about what to look
for, what to consider as far as our health.  We were told that Texas has
a mold law for companies such as theirs which allows them to perform
either testing OR remediation.  They cannot do both.  We could not have
remediation come out until the home was tested, by law.  Katie provided
us with a couple of testing companies, we called one immediately after
speaking with her.  He came out that afternoon, called us with
preliminary results within an hour and sent them to a lab to confirm.
Luckily we were not at risk and could remain in our home.
IAQM
showed up on Monday xmas eve to contain the area.  They came back the
day after xmas and worked from 10am to 11:30pm to tear out all the
sheetrock, tile and any surfaces damp or exposed to mold.  They were
informative, prompt, professional and responded to all our calls.  We
had constant communication with them throughout the process.  I would
highly recommend them!

The workers were professional but a bit chatty. They started rather late in the day and then finished shortly after 5:30 PM. They were professional and did not bother us during the work. The house was kept as clean as possible and the workers were very polite. The supervisor kept us apprised and did a professional job of communicating with the mold testing service wherever the protocol did not explicitly include special circumstances. The supervisor inspected the area once the work was complete and removed and cleaned up the area as best they could. The mold remediation supervisor indicated that the fans and equipment would remain until a clearance test indicated that they had passed. The job was scoped and stayed on budget with no additional work required. We were required to pay a deposit of 25% at the beginning of the project with the balance of 75% due at job end. I felt the job went very well. They were extremely professional from start to finish. The communication was excellent. They did leave some tape - they sent supervisors and a salesperson for the rebuild - and I felt that a supervisor should have made sure they removed the tape before they left but that's not a huge issue for us. Also staples were left in the wall from the thick mylar covering on our wall. Those should have been removed. Other than that they were great. I would use them again. Not the cheapest in town - but mid-range and good quality.

He came prepared to do the job. He was punctual. He went to the highest vent to check my vents and I appreciated the time he took to ensure the previous work was done properly. He was thorough and paid attention to detail. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything they would do. Don, the owner, gave me a lot of advice about what steps to take next despite not knowing whether or not he would be getting my business. I didn?t feel pressure at all to make any decisions. I felt as though they were giving me honest and upfront information.
