Ok so the first job they did was amazing work. They came in and poured a slab to engineers specifications and did not come up with to many "additions" to the price. I was super happy and pleased. Great work and nice guy. Then it began. We agreed he would do another job. He told me he had gotten the permit and needed the money for materials. I usually like with the first job do not ever pay in advance because its just to risky but since he had done the first job I went ahead and gave him a check for the materials for the second job he was supposed to start the very next day. Then weeks go by and he tells me I am waiting on the permit to get approved. What? The permit that he told me was pulled and ready and thats why he needed material money for the next day because they were going to start the job. After a month I told him  I was going to hire someone else and I needed the $600.00 back for the materials I had paid him for a job he never did. That was at the end of January. He then said he was charging me for drawing up floor plans and all the time he spent going to the city. He said he was charging me $250. for that and he would send me the difference. That never happened. I have since got other contractors to finish the job he didn't do and will be filing this in court this week.
