Start: LATE. After being told the job would be started on 3/22, then 3/23, for sure on 3/24, then definitely first thing on Monday 3/26, he finally showed up at 1PM. He was late every single day; the one day he got there before 11AM he showed up at 9:15, said he had to run to Lowe's and would be back in 20 minutes -- showed up again at 11:30. He left early each day with less work completed than what I had been told would be finished. On Wednesday 3/28 I was told by both Mr. Husted and Mr. Tuinei (reviewed separately) that there would definitely be tile on the floor before he left that afternoon...he left early for some girlfriend emergency, with NO tile on the floor. The work was extremely sloppy and carelessly done. He did not remove the old hardi-board or thinset from the floor before he put down new tile; when the contractor I hired to redo EVERYTHING came out, he was able to lift selected tiles from the floor quite easily with essentially a nail file. Mr. Husted disappeared on Friday night 3/30 with the guest room sink totally torn apart, leaking and unusable -- his explanation was that he thought he could fix it "real quick" but he left without telling me it was still in pieces. Luckily my husband spotted it before Mr. Tuinei left although he didn't fix the leak either. Mr. Husted was dishonest about several details regarding this job. Among other things, he told me that the size of shower pan I originally had in this bathroom was discontinued and I would have to go either 6" bigger or 6" smaller which affected the size of the seat in the shower. Not being educated in things like this, I believed him until after he had disappeared and I started to discover other details that were wrong. The original size shower pan is definitely still available, but Lowe's must have been out of it so he just lied to me. By changing the size of the shower pan the pan drain no longer lined up with the floor drain. He said they would move the floor drain but did not do that; just used an offset drain which was much cheaper and less effort. He did not use hardi-board in the shower but some kind of green sheetrock which is much thicker. He left the sides of the shower unfinished, exposing the green sheetrock all the way around. The job had to be totally torn up and redone.
