Chris Hollin completed a great job restoring my home after a flood. The house looks better now than the day I purchased it brand new. Contractors were courteous and promptly completed all work on schedule. Great job.

New roof in 2008: I had just gotten out of a Long Term Acute Care Facility after 14 weeks and watching Chris's crew work on bringing my house back in order was very uplifting and therapeutic.
The roofing crew covered all plantings and our swimming pool before removing the old shingles.
His carpenter crew had to remove solar heating panels before the shingles were removed and replaced them after the roofing was completed. They also replaced and painted deteriorating exterior wood around a bay window and our fireplace chimney. They removed the old fence/posts and a rotting down child's playhouse from our backyard and built and stained a new board-on-board cedar fence with metal posts.
There was an issue with the removal and placement of the gate posts due to the original posts being surrounded by the pool decking. Our decision was to place the new posts outside of the original posts rather then chance cracking the pool decking pulling the concreted wooden posts out of the ground(they sawed them off). This resulted in a wider gate that was too heavy for the soil to hold the supporting posts upright...the gate would drag on our driveway and could not open and close. Chris and his people kept after the issue until the final solution was to install what I refer to as a barn door gate with two smaller gates that swing toward each other meeting in the center of the opening. Truth be told, I like it better than the normal gates on residential fences.
I want to stress the facts that 1) Chris does not expect pay until the job/project is complete and 2) his people did keep working on the gate issue even after I had paid when we were not yet aware of the gate issue.
Kitchen Remodel in 2010: My wife and I had been considering having Loews replace our counter tops with granite counter tops and were confused about what to do about replacing the existing wallpaper back splash. Our son asked if we had considered whether Chris did this kind of work. We contacted Chris. Chris suggested several ideas to increase the size of our island's surface and installing a terrazo tile back splash. We were able to choose any edge style we wanted whereas with Loews' bid several edge styles were extra cost options.
Chris scheduled his people to come in at just the right times to remove the old sink just in time for the counter top people to remove the old counter tops and install the new ones and the tile people to install the back splash. We were without the use of our kitchen for only two days. As my wife was dissatisfied with the looks of several tiles, the tile people returned and replaced those as well as grouting a couple of places that I spotted. Chris is paid only after the job is completed.
