"Hi [member name removed], Thank you for taking the time and giving us such a nice review. My wife Debi and I have owned Canine Courtyard for almost 4 years. It's important to us that the dogs have the best experience and care while they're with us. We're really proud of our groomers. They truly groom the dogs as if they were their own. Thanks again. warm regards, Debi and Paul LaVoie"

Our Golden Retriever was clean and ready for pickup at the promised time.
The staff is easy to work with when setting up the appointments. They set expectations on required documentation and worked with us once when we forgot to bring in that documentation. They called the vet to get the shot record faxed over immediately so that we wouldn't have to go pick it up and bring it back in.
Our dog seems to be well cared for during her stay and the staff indicated that they loved having her as a guest.

Response from Canine Courtyard
"I am horribly embarssed by this report. When Mike picked up Captain he was in an obvious hurry. I had been looking for him all day. When I realized it was Captain that was going home I tried to catch up and discuss why there was a bandage on his leg. Unfortunetly, I stated that this may have begun before he got to the kennel. It was a hot spot. Mike replied that yes he's had those before and was out the door. After reading this review, I called the customer to straighten out the matter and she informed me that Mike was being saracastic. So here is my perspective of the incident. Captain is a large high energy Black Lab. The first evening he was boarded we saw him licking a hot spot. The hair was nearly gone and looked like it could have been worked on awhile. We applied a mild soap and sour apple to the hot spot. It seemed to work and we kept an eye on him the next few days. The hair was regrowing and we didn't apply any additional ointment. The dog was left in our care for 10 days without dayplay. We intentionaly let him stay longer with the outside dogs during potty runs to run off some of his anxieties. The evening before he was to be picked up we noticed he was once again licking the spot on his hind leg. Only this time he had licked thru the flesh. We cleaned the spot and wrapped it knowing the owner was picking up Captain the next day. This was not a scrape, nor a puncture of any kind. The wound was smooth and open from constant licking. Yes we have had a price increase since we purchased the facility in late January. This helps cover the cost of the increase in care. Previous managment ran all the dogs outside in one dog run and had no supervision. We now have four outside runs, and three new airconditioned inside runs, ALL of them are supervised by trained profesionals. The Kennels have all been cleaned and rebuilt with privacy pannels added. All of the Kennels are disinfected twice a day as is the inside daycares. The outside yards are spray disinfected every evening. The rates are on the front desk and posted online on our website. it is not our intention to rip anyone off, but only to provide the very best possible care and environment for our canine guests. I'm truly sorry for this incident. Please have Mike or you stop by and take a tour of our new facilities and talk this out. Warm regards, Paul and Debi LaVoie Owners"

We had never been there before. I ended up having over $500 in vet bills when I brought the dog home; he could not walk after I brought him home and they would own up to causing the problem. I asked the owner what happened and they said they did not know what happened so I will not use them again in the future. My dog was in bad shape.

"This is from a complaint that was filed in 2009. We have only owned the Kennel since January 2012. Please come by for a tour and meet the staff. We are "hands on owners. We have completely rebuilt the faciulities and hired additional profesional care givers. Our only concern is to provide the best care possible for our furry guests. Paul and Debi LaVoie owners"

The best way I can explain how good these folks are is by my dogs actions. We have a two year old brown lab, the minute we mention to her going to Canine Courtyard, she has about the same reaction I would have if I won the Powerball jackpot. The kennel area is as clean as I have ever seen. They also let the dogs indoors and outdoors all day long to play with other dogs. Always monitors by both people and cameras. They also keep aggressive dogs separated away from the other dogs. The other services like grooming and bathing are extremely reasonable and professionally done. I highly recommend this company.

We boarded our black lab here over Thanksgiving based upon the advice of a friend. I toured the facility before making a reservation and was very happy with the indoor play area and the outdoor runs. The actual sleeping quarters are not that large, but given how little time my dog would spend in there, that wasn't a concern. The kennel has a "rule" about rawhide, which I understand since they don't want a dog to choke. That was a very large concern for me since my lab's only toys are rawhide chews. The staff had no issue with me bringing several bones and said they would switch them out as needed. My dog came back with nearly every bone, so I'm not sure if he just didn't chew his bones or if the staff didn't provide him with any new ones. Based upon how nervous my dog typically is, I figured it was the former and not the latter. The one issue I did have was with the front desk's follow-up regarding current vaccines. When I made the reservation I provided my vets name and number and the staff said they would call. A few days before the trip, we called to confirm and were informed that they still needed the vet records -- and it was apparent that they had never followed up on their initial commitment -- we told them to call the vet and again provided the phone number. They again said they would. When we dropped off our dog, we were informed they still needed the vet records -- I'll admit I wasn't very happy at that point and told them to they needed to actually follow through on what they said they would do. They had all the vet information in the file, so someone had obviously listened enough to capture the details. Overall, that was a minor inconvenience and I'll use them again. The paperwork side of the business is lacking, but our dog was happy and healthy when we picked him up and that is the most important thing.

Everything was great. Sometimes you have to wait a minute or two for someone to get to the front in the mornings, but our dog LOVES to go there. We have also taken advantage of their training classes and boarding in the past and have no complaints at all. Everything is clean and the dogs seem to be well taken care of.
