Top Quality Cabinets

After visiting a local cabinet showroom and reading reviews for various out-of-state cabinet manufacturers, I stumbled on Top Quality Cabinets right here on Angie's List. They had positive reviews, and I was happy to see that the cabinets are built locally here in South Texas. I called and made an appointment to meet with Jerry Nettrour, owner of Top Quality Cabinets, at our newly-purchased home. He arrived right on time and with door samples in hand. We discussed his building process and timeline, and he took measurements in order to prepare a rough estimate. My husband was not able to attend that meeting, but I was so impressed with Jerry that I enthusiastically spoke with my husband about him and his company. My husband wanted to learn more about Jerry's work, since we would be making a large and critical investment in cabinetry, so I called and asked whether we could visit his production facility in Floresville. Jerry agreed to show us his facility, so we drove out on a Saturday morning. Seeing other customer orders in progress really sold us on Top Quality Cabinets' process. It also gave us ideas for our own home. Once demo was completed, Jerry came back and took new measurements, then created an illustrated proposal for us. Once I saw the proposal, I was able to make changes to the design and order the cabinets. Jerry is not a kitchen designer, but his advice on layout was invaluable. He knew how much clearance was needed between the island and the surrounding walls, for instance. He made a number of suggestions regarding placement of drawers and drawers, as well. In the end, we ordered a traditionally styled cherry cabinet suite. Jerry asked for the specs on my kitchen appliances and built the cabinets so that the appliances fit precisely in place - even an undercounter microwave oven! He constructed a wall of cabinets to surround our refrigerator in such a way that the fridge appears to be built-in. The cabinets feature dovetailed drawers and soft-close hinges and drawer slides, which we love. We added a row of glass-front doors to the top of our cabinets as a display space, and we also selected turned legs for the seating portion of the island. Jerry's installation crew was top-notch; they came out a couple of times after the majority of the cabinets were installed to adjust drawers and take care of other minor issues. All in all, we are very pleased with the way this project turned out, and we highly recommend Top Quality Cabinets!

I fielded several bids for our kitchen and breakfast nook project. The house and existing cabinets had some unique shapes and sizes, so I wasn't sure if it would be better to reface or rebuild as both drawers/doors and boxes would likely need to be custom. After reading some reviews of the quality of work from Top Quality Cabinets, I requested they come over and take a look/bid on the project. As they CNC cut their boxes and custom order (from a Texas based company) the drawers and doors, it was not a big deal for them to fit our existing space. Jerry was prompt for our appointment and provided a quote that was very competitive with some of the service providers who bid on refacing only. Top quality cabinets use high quality door and drawer pull/closure hardware as well; a significant upgrade from my previous condition. Jerry stopped by our house in North Central San Antonio a few times to continue to review plans for the kitchen, and iron out any special features that we wanted to incorporate. Again, the benefit of the CNC process, is his ability to be flexible with sizing, which allows a lot of features to be worked into the space. This was also a huge benefit to our oddly sized floor to ceiling unit in our breakfast area. Also, if you want painted cabinets (we went white), they have the ability to utilize just about any color within Sherwin Williams palette, allowing even more of a custom look. You aren't held down by specific choices. Our installer, Kenny, kept an eye on the details as he was hanging and setting the boxes. Like many houses that are 35+ years old, our kitchen isn't perfectly square. Kenny was able to hide and work through some of the challenges, keeping me informed along the way. I work in a field related to quality, which is usually a bear for some contractors, as I tend to pick up on things that others don't notice. Kenny addressed everything with ease and was always pleasant to be around. Clearly, I'm a huge fan of the fact that they use the CNC process, but where Jerry and Kenny really shine is with their 'service first' attitude. Nothing seems to phase them, and they were willing to work around our schedules when necessary. By the end of our project, we were very trusting with both Kenny and Jerry, and was able to run out of the house while they were working. In addition, after installation, when my husband and I decided to change the top drawer fronts (the door style we went with looked odd on small drawers), Jerry was very accommodating, and was able to get a new order into the provider, get the cabinets painted, and reinstalled at our place in a matter of weeks. In the interim, I had installed some hardware on our existing drawers, and Kenny even re-installed the same hardware on my new ones! 100% recommend these guys, both for the custom work, and for their commitment to service. Project went very smooth. Their name describes the quality that I received. All items were shop finished which made for an excellent finish. Installer(s) were very courteous and easy to work with as I had other work going on around the house. Thanks for an excellent product.

Jason provided us with outstanding service and high-quality cabinets.  We were matching our cabinets to a kitchen we remodeled a few years ago.  He was able to match the design and stain color perfectly.  We will use him again for future work.

Jerry and Jack did an amazing job!!! I am very happy with my new cabinets and countertops. They are so beautiful and I have much more storage space. All of the cabinets fit perfectly and are very well made. The countertops are perfect and look so good with the oil bronze fixtures. Thank you guys! You are wonderful!!!!

When we did our remodel, Top Quality Cabinets was the only provider we hired that didn't have an Angie's List rating at the time (March 2013). We loved the fact that Jerry (owner) is a veteran, his quote was less expensive than all the others we received (Home Depot, Lowes, Parrish, Lone Star Construction, K&M Builders, et. al.) and he offered a superior product. His website was also impressive. We hired Top Quality Cabinets to build 42" upper cabinets, a new cabinet pantry & new cabinets for two bathroom vanities. We made our initial payment installment and all seemed to go according to plans. Jerry made sure the boxes were installed in time (April 2013)  for the floor to be laid, the countertops to be installed & for the electrician to install over cabinet & under cabinet lighting. The quality of the boxes are second to none: thick REAL wood, not plywood, better, longer screws (not cheap nails) and the brackets were also superior. The light rail turned out beautiful as did the crown moulding. One quirk: the crown moulding in the half bath was installed upside down but it's not noticeable since the rooms are not visible from one another. Even 8 months later, when we had an issue with a particular drawer glide, Jerry came out to address the issue. Although the project took longer than planned, we would contract with Top Quality Cabinets all over again. His attention to detail, pride in workmanship and customer service have made us his biggest fans!

I just finished my custom home with a beautiful Kitchen. This could not be real without the “Top Quality Cabinets” company. Jerry has been working with me over 3 months on this project and it was a pleasant experience. I got Jerry's phone # from one of my co-workers and very pleased with his work. Jerry met with me for 1 hour, listens to what I needs and draw out a plan within a week. It turns out very professional with little changes. He keeps me in the loop on his progress and raise his concerns as soon as he could. Jerry also suggests changes to the plan based on his expertise and I very appreciated. He pays attention to detail, but also very open to changes. I design (on the flight) in the last minutes and Jerry just smiles and make it happen. I gave Jerry and his team more businesses around the house and he deliver them just as I wanted within a timeline I need (this is very important to me). Some of my contractors that help me build the house make comments when they see the Kitchen as: “This is just like on a Magazine”; “You only see this on Magazine”; And I think IT IS TRULY GORGEOUS. He came out right away to give us a free estimate and began working on it a few days later after we signed the contract.. We are very pleased with his work.. The stain and custom built doors are exactly like our kitchen cabinets, in which we wanted it to be as close as possible.. He did a fantastic job.. We would highly recommend him and are planning to have him do more things in our new home.. He was also very willing to travel to do the job for us. (Which our home is almost an hour drive from his shop). I will certainly recommend him to all my new neighbors.. Great job..

My experience with Jerry and his crew with Top Quality Cabinets was a very relaxing one. When I met with Jerry to discuss what type of cabinets I was looking for he provided me with numerous pictures of work he had done and I was very pleased with the look and quality. I told my husband I don't want to look any further I have found the people to build my cabinets. I fell in love with the walnut wood and Jerry pretty much took it from there, designing the layout I was wanting. Jerry told us two weeks prior to your home being finished to call him and he would start building them, he didn't like to put them in new homes too soon to make sure they would not get damaged by construction , right then I knew him and his crew took pride in their craftsmanship. My cabinets are done and the beauty of them was way more than I expected, actually I just stood there and stared at them and every time my husband and I walk by them we quote " man our cabinets are so pretty, we made a great choice. I would highly recommend Top Quality cabinets to do your new home or remodel.
