Do - look for another company. I thought this was a reputable company and after dealing with the fist contractor that botched the job to begin with, I thought I was making better decision.
Don't - pay these people a penny until you are sure the work has started and you see that they have a vested interest in completing the work.
Update: After posting this on Angie's list, I filed a complaint against the company with the BBB. The next day, I was contacted by the owner who was very apologetic. They began the work the next day and were done within a week. The work passed inspection by the city. They do good work but I doubt I will ever use them again. If you do, at the first sign of trouble, bypass your salesman/project manager and go straight to the owner. If that doesn't work, file a complaint with the BBB.
"I am the owner spoken of in this review. We did "adopt" this project to correct things that didn't pass code. There were grey areas on what exactly might or might not pass code and I told [member name removed] to please give me the inspectors # and I'd call and meet with him to make sure we could pacify the city and end the troubles she was having. I don't recall about the time frame issues, but know that there were most likely more circumstances than us just ignoring [member name removed]. I personally protect our A+ rating we've carried for years with the BBB and will go to all lengths to do so because we do have a good reputation(maybe 5 complaints in approx 30 years). I did all I could to please her and was really surprised to read this review. We did go above and beyond to get the items on this 100 year old building where it should be and the inspector spoke of the incredible job we'd done. I do sincerely apologize that we caused anyone ill feelings toward our company. We do probably 600 jobs a year or more with an average size of $7000.00 to $10,000.00 per job and have done so since 1985, creating custom products from raw material and making them accommodate our customers needs and I guess will miss the mark now and then. The final deal will be them getting what they paid for(or more) and making sure that they are satisifed. I apologize to you, [member name removed], that you have a bad taste in your mouth after dealing with our company. You'd given me a totally different opinion when we met on sight. Again, my sincere apologies, Todd Brock"
"[member name removed], I vividly remember your railing and went to look at it and called you two or three times to discuss and never got a callback. I was told by my guy you were upset that you paid too much."
