Raintree Custom Cabinets Inc

Raintree Cabinets was very prompt and very courteous. He measured and we discussed what he was going to do. He said that the current cabinets were lacquered and that he would do the new doors and drawers to match in just a few days. I had received other bids, but no one had offered to match the cabinets and his bid was higher by a few hundred dollars, but with his assurance that they would be finished, I agreed to pay additional. Within the week, he called to tell me that my cabinets were ready and would be installed the next day. He requested cash payment so my husband and I went to the bank and when we returned half of the cabinets were already installed. They were beautifully constructed, but did not in any way match the honey oak. They looked like raw wood with clear lacquer on them. I was so upset and my husband tried to talk to him. He told my husband that he could strip the existing boxes or just wait and the doors would yellow with time!! There was no way these raw wood doors would ever match!!!! I feel that I should have gotten a sample of a completed door or drawer to show what color they were going to be. I just didn't ask for a sample and he didn't offer. That was my mistake. ALWAYS ASK FOR A SAMPLE. After he left, I called a painter and they are charging me $600.00 to refinish the doors and cabinets to be the same color. I should have requested them be left unfinished, but hind sight is always 20/20!!!
