"As a contractor for First American I responded to the member's request for service & found his pump needed replacing. I ordered a Pentair Superflo pump, an excellent piece of equipment but was unable to guarantee it would be delivered to me & installed before his planned July 4th party. The member became impatient; he elected to go outside his service coverage & bought a new pump himself. He didn't bother to call me or First American to cancel the service request. Despite 2 weeks of torrential rains in Texas, on June 30th, during a rain storm I installed his new pump. I learned later that the member had already replaced the pump so I returned & changed out the pump again; reinstalling the pump he had paid for. The member requested that I leave the pump that First American had furnished & since the pump belonged to First American I informed First American of his request & they told me the pump didn't belong to the member & I was to return it to the supplier for a credit to their account since he decided to use another servicer outside of his coverage, which I did. The member's false accusation of me unlawfully keeping the pump is untrue & he may be leaving himself open to legal action. This all could have been prevented with 1 phone call from the member informing either me or First American that he was canceling the service request. The pump the member purchased on his own never left his premises."
