I was very satisfied and would give them as many stars as they can get. Their work, the price and the quality of the product are the things that stand out the most. The price was just right.

Both jobs went very well. LInda and the head landscapper came out, looked over the jobs and gave me firm quotes. They listened to what I wanted, asked good question, and made suggestions. Both times the workmen arrived on time, were efficient and cleaned up completely. The borders look great and the plants are doing well - just what I wanted. The new sod is filling in beautifully. They do excellent work and I have recommended them to neighbors and friends.

Nobody on the crew spoke english, and they started to put up a three block high wall. Even though when they took the job, they said they could do it with just the 3" stone, they now claimed they needed something to anchor it with. This wall turned out to be in violation of city ordinance, as it was within 10 feet of the curb. (When they bid the job, they assured me they were familiar with Universal City rules). So now they brought in a bobcat and cut out part of the slope so the wall would be 10 feet from the curb, raising the cost from the agreed upon $3600 to $4300. Long story short - they never installed the weed mat and one year later the wall collapsed in a big rain storm.

"we apologize for any inconvenience, work was performed as agreed and explained. language was not an issue here as for there are always translators on the crews. we always offer repairs as well as warranties on projects. payment is due upon completion after customer has revised work and satisfied we are unsure why you did not notice weed mat had not been installed until 1 year later work would have gotten redone immediatly. one year later retaining wall has collapsed but did not allow repair of dry stack retaining wall yet wanted mordar but did not want to pay labor. price between drystack retaining wall and mordared retaining wall is quit a difference.we are honest people and always stick to what we say or write on contracts. we will be more than happy to correct this problem for you. we are a small business members of bbb accredited busines customer satisfaction mean alot to us."

Initially spoke with the wife of the Contractor. Very friendly. Persons that came out to do the work did not speak english. Had a very hard time communicating with them. They cut down the shrubs and bushes but did not remove the stumps. They raked up the mulch but did not remove it from the property. Eventually they placed the new St. Augustine sod over the old stumps and mulch. Within two weeks our lawn started molding underneath the sod and we were getting bug infestation on the lawn and in our trees. Also, all the sod had died, even though we watered as instructed by J's. We contacted them for 21 days with minimal response. I think they called us back twice in three weeks and said they'd be out to fix the problems. They never showed. We had to hire another company to remove the dead sod and the stumps. We had the sod replaced. We ended up taking J's to small claims court. We were awarded $5200.00 for the monies we paid to them and for the removal of their shoddy work. It has been over a year and a half and we have not received any payment on the judgement.

Were not punctual, non-responsive to request to repair the wall after 3 weeks. We have 6 large cracks in the front side wall. Made a complaint to the San Antonio Better Business Bureau, but J's does not even reply to the BBB.

I really liked the man who did the lawn for me. I never had to call him, he simply arrived unannounced and did the work. He was polite, and did not charge too much compared to other lawn care businesses. The one thing he did not do, though, was pick up the grass clippings, or use a bag attachment on his mower. I did not want grass clippings to build up, so I do it myself now.

"we havent had a maintnance crew since probably 2004, since we cant just trust anyone to do maintnance the correct way, however we are not sure if you have the right business. it would be helpful if you can provide me with the name of the person who has done you work."
