I bought a house with a new roof in 2008. Six days after escrow closed, the roof leaked badly and damaged the ceiling and walls of my living room. I have a contract from YCS Roofing that guarantees the roof for 20 years, and is transferable. I called and they sent out teenagers to fix the roof. They came out three times and three times fixed the wrong place. The roof kept leaking as it was the rainy season, and the damage to the living room walls and ceiling increased. YCS finally sent out people to fix the interior, but they only did half and never painted, and never came back, so I still have a large oddly colored area on my ceiling, plus some bubbles and a hole in my wall. I filed a complaint with the BBB and the roofer, Sergio, denied that the warranty was transferable until I faxed BBB a copy. The roofer called, made an appointment, then did not show up. He made several more appointments when I called and did not show up to a single one. I reached the point where I could not deal with it anymore because of illness and had friends go over the roof with tar instead. The roof continues to leak today, a year later, so I am inspired to tell everyone on Angie's List. I made a second complaint to BBB and have asked for a refund of the full amount of the roof replacement. It was horrible. The rep Sergio was patronizing. There was a gender issue (I am a woman alone and he did not take me or my business seriously). I am disabled and I feel YCS Roofing took advantage of a disabled person as they knew I was heavily involved with cancer treatment and ultimately could not take care of the situation myself. They are the lowest of the low.
