My first experience with them was very positive.
On a Sunday night we experienced very strong winds and woke up on Monday with part of a tree on our garage, some of it in alley and the rest of the tree still standing. The tree had split. The rest of it was still standing and I wanted the standing tree cut down before it fell down. More strong winds were predicted for later that week (Thursday). If it fell it was going to land on the house, or the garage, or over electrical lines.
I called 5 different companies to get an estimate to have the rest of the tree cut down. Tree Amigo's estimate was midway between all five. One company said they would not touch the tree. Another wanted $1500. A third party wanted $350 and this man worked alone. The fourth company said they would need to bring in a cherry picker. Tree Amigo said they could do the job but would need to take workers off another job to do it. They wanted $750 and explained how they would go about cutting down and removing the tree. I hired them because the price was reasonable and I liked the owner's personality.
They were able to come in and cut down the rest of the tree before the winds arrived. The tree was over 50 years old and several stories tall. They brought a chipper to get rid of the small branches and they hauled off the rest of the wood.
I have since called them again within the last six months for consulting work on a mulberry tree. The owner came out but told me it was too late in the season (May) to work on the tree. He told me to call back in November. I have called 2 times to set up an appointment for them to look at the tree again. . He said he would be here on two different dates and never showed up and never called back.
My mulberry tree still needs work and would love to hire Tree Amigo, but I'm reluctant to call.
