Repair/replacement/paint of stucco on house. Started off great with 2 guys showing up to do the estimate and describe their process of ensuring work would be done correctly. The owner was supposed to check the crews work daily. The crew doing the stucco repair seemed to do a good job but did not trench around the perimeter of the house to put new stucco on a couple inches below grade. We complained but this was never fixed. Paint job over the stucco was horrible. The painter sprayed over our faucet handle. The downspouts were sprayed without being sanded or prepped at all. The doors were also painted without being sanded down so they were bumpy and thick. They were supposed to leave us the leftover paint for repairs but left the lid open do it dried out in a day. I asked for a gallon of paint to replace it and Art promised to bring it. That was 3 years ago. We had work done by another contractor who called Top Notch to ask for the paint "recipe" so they could make repairs. No reply.

When I first hired this company in 2010, it was Gilbert who came to our home and gave us the estimate. Since that time, I have discovered that Gilbert has passed away. A few weeks ago (9/2013) I called them because the small length ( about 12') of gutter they had installed back in 2010 had failed miserably during the recent rainstorms. Their work supposedly has a 10 year warranty, but good luck trying to get that honored! The busted vinyl gutter, which had a SEAM right over our back door...the WORST possible place for a seam to be, leaked and caused water to back up into our house under the door. Why does a 12' length of vinyl gutter even need to have a seam at all?! What moron puts the seam above a door!? No commonsense what so ever from "Johnny", the gutter guy based in Las Cruces that Top Notch uses. I called and spoke to Johnny and told him the problem and he said he would arrange a time to come out from Las Cruces. That was the last I heard from him. I have called them now, and Johnny their gutter guy, about 18 times in 2 weeks and they will not return my calls. I have left them messages stating that I will contact the Better Business Bureau to complain about them, and STILL no reply from Johnny. I have since given up and hired Roger's Siding & Exteriors, Inc (who I found right here on Angie's List of course) to replace the gutter that Top Notch had installed and to install even more gutters around the house. Seriously, who has time for businesses like Top Notch in their life?! In terms of the other roofing jobs Top Notch performed for us (the elastomeric coating on a flat roof surface, and the chimney flashing) they have not failed, but they also were not the neatest in craftsmanship in the world?very sloppy looking. On an unrelated note: Top Notch also painted our neighbors' house up the street in 2011 and they told me they were not happy and that the job was sloppy, with paint splatters on the walkways around the house. Bottom line: I will never use Top Notch again.

Ever since they worked on the roof it has leaked every time it has rained. They came several times and supposedly repaired it, as we signed a 10 year contract, but it is still leaking. As of December 2011 when it was leaking very badly they came a couple of times and started work on it again, then just quit in the middle leaving unfinished work and have not been here since February. We had pots and pans in the living room to catch the water all through the holidays. Have attempted to contact the owner Albert Ordunez Phone: (575) 523-5837 aordunez@topnotchexteriors.net by Email and telephone calls numerous times since then, but he does not reply to emails or phone calls. When we had rain a couple of weeks ago, the roof was leaking very badly in several places. We finally gave up and hired another roofer to finish the roof who had to redo what they had done on the leaky part of the roof. Apparently Top Notch used the very cheapest roofing materials available and did not slope the roof correctly causing the water to puddle and leak. I have discovered that they have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau with numerous complaints. We had to pay the new roofer 2500.00 to redo the part of the roof that was leaking. DO NOT HAVE THIS COMPANY WORK ON YOUR ROOF! THEY ARE UNRELIABLE, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND HAVE NOT HONORED THE 10 YEAR CONTRACT WE SIGNED. The whole experience with them has been an ordeal and even with the contract, I do not want them anywhere near my roof.
Description of Work: Had roof replaced by Top Notch in 2009.

So far it's good. They were good. They came when they said they were going to. They came every day until the job was done. My husband watched them pretty closely and they appeared to know what they were doing. Roofing crews and things like that can change periodically so I don't know whether they have the same roofing crews or not. They did a good job. They came ahead of time and brought all of the equipments that they needed. The next couple of days they came here on time. They were here on time every day. I have no complaints. I would recommend but I hope I don't have to use them again.
Description of Work: We used Top Notch Exteriors about three or four years ago to put on a new roof.
