About us
We specialize in the design and manufacturing of custom made, high end of all types of cabinetry, including kitchen cabinets bathroom cabinets, entertainmentt centers, work and home office designs with a strong focus in the GTD organization concept, closet systems and Murphy beds. We also do other types of millwork, such as fireplace mantels. We use the European 32mm construction method and then we can customize to provide the contemprary, sleek European look or a stately traditional American look or something in between. We strive to give our cabinetry the look and feel of fine furniture. The extent of which depends on the available budget. We install all of our work, insuring complete quality control from start to finish. All of our work is proudly done right here in our El Paso, TX, facility, unlike two of our closest competitors, which import their cabinetry from outside the country. Of course, the national home centers are not truly a competitor in terms of the pruduct they offer, but we are surprisingly price-competitive, although our products are in a different category altogether. Allow us to show you how. Of course, you should always visit the manufacturing facillity and look at the work in progress to get an idea and see if it meets your needs and standards. Equally important is to go and see work from a list of finished projects. Most of of our clients volunteer their Sunwest Woodworks cabinetry for our potential clients t see. Custom cabinet work is not a comodity. I varies from each cabinet shop in many differnt ways. Price alone is a poor metric to evaluate value. Cheap is a very poor value, especially in custom cabinetry. We are constantly asked to replace cabinetry that is no more than a couple of years old. Why? Because th builder or buyer chose to cut corners and sooner rather than later, it becomes unacceptable to live with poorly built or unatractive cabinetry. One of the most visible and personal rewarding experiences of home ownership, is custom made cabinetry designed not only to be functional but beautiful as well. We do not offer in house financing but can refer our clients to financial institutions such as credit unions or banks who offer our clients preferred lending rates. Team was punctual, professional, and creative. I made several changes mid-project. They responded promptly, provided reasonable estimates for change orders, and never complained.
I love my kitchen now.
I worked with an architect/contractor for the overall layout and design. We removed soffits, raised and finished the ceiling, and redesigned the kitchen layout, island shape and overall configuration twice!
This was an extremely difficult renovation project, I think. We wanted to merge our contemporary aesthetic with the Mediterranean design of our 10-year old home. We wanted to integrate the new kitchen with the other elements of the house. We didn't want anything too "frilly" or "traditional" or "Southwest." At the same time, we didn't want the design too look too cold or modern.
We have a large curved wall in the kitchen, and I wanted to retain that and show it off.
Sunwest understood the complexities of the curve. The cabinets look fabulous.
Sunwest (Mario and he team) could not have been more responsive and professional. Midway through the installation, we changed the shape of the island, involving remeasuring and rework on his part. Our changes impacted overall project time and cost, of course; however, Mario worked with us to come up with a really beautiful and functional design.
The cabinets go all the way to the ceiling. The pull-outs and "extras" for storage are perfect for our lifestyle.
The team was prompt, courteous and professional. Occasionally, delays would occur, but the guys always called me to let me know if there would be delays and why. Mario did a great job managing my expectations. I understood when it took an extra day for the stain to dry when we were trying a new color, or when we discovered that the design needed to be tweaked from the diagrams.
The team cleaned up after themselves every day. They understood there's a family living here and they were really respectful of that.
I just couldn't be happier. I went to four different cabinet makers for estimates. Sunwest wasn't the cheapest, but they weren't the most expensive, either. I do feel Sunwest has the most talented master craftsmen and deliver the highest quality cabinetry of anyone in the El Paso area.
