Nu-Tec was established in 1993 by Ed Clouse Jr. Ed has dedicated the last twenty four years to serving each and every one of his clients, one job at a time! Hands on supervision is just one of the many services that Nu-Tec offers along with extensive remodeling experience, on time delivery, and most importantly, Trust! If you read all of our customer reviews you will see that Nu-Tec is all about the customer! Ed generally carries his cell phone in his back pocket and does occasionally miss a phone call. Ed is the owner, general manager, estimator, and only secretary and works alongside his employees and sub-contractors every single day knee deep into every remodeling project giving his customers all that they asked for, paid for, and deserve. It may be necessary to follow up with a return call if Nutec has not responded in a day or two.

Nu-Tec did a superb job of building our home! From the very beginning until the day we received the Certificate of Occupation Ed and Keith were engaged with us. They recommended an architect to assist with the floor plans and throughout the building process both Ed and Keith made suggestions on how the construction could be improved. Cost saving improvements - yes. Cheap - no!!! They do quality Work!!! Unfortunately for me, my job required me to move to Virginia, but I felt comfortable that the Nu-Tec Team would not let my wife down and would listen to and follow through on all her recommendations/ideas. They did not let us down. They even credited us for some changed materials that we both agreed upon and passed along the savings to us. Not many builders will do this!
Ed or Keith, sometimes both, were always on the job-site to supervise the workers. They were always available - Always on call for us. They made sure the work was being done to our specifications and that the quality of the work was excellent. We followed Nu-Tec's advice and chose the subs he recommended for the stone countertops, the custom cabinets, and the tile setting. All their subs did quality work.
The entire Nu-Tec crew were very professional and easy to work with. They answered all of our questions and made useful suggestions throughout the process. We are extremely pleased with the results. Their quality of work was exceptional, their price for the work was extremely fair, and the job-site was always clean!
Having never built a home, my wife and I were certainly stressing since we had heard horror stories about builders not building to specification or not available after the completion of the home. Not so with Nu-Tec!!! From day one they made us feel comfortable. After our first meeting we knew we had made the right choice in picking Nu-Tec to build our home.

They arrive promptly at 8 am every morning and work until at least 4 pm, later if necessary to finish something they are working on. They are very careful to protect the rooms, fixtures and furniture in the path of the project. They recognize that I'm living in the house at night and over the weekend when they are gone, so they leave the work areas as accessible as possible in their absence. They also cleanup their work area in the garage every evening to allow me to put my car inside over night.
Each of the employees hass a great deal of pride in his craftsmanship, which results in a high quality finished project. When removing the microwave to replace the backsplash behind it, they discovered that the exhaust fan was poorly installed. They replaced the ductwork and reinstalled it properly at no additional charge. There were other small improvements outside the scope of the project which they also took care of. Their attention to details ensure a completed project that not only meets expectations, but also exceeds them.
All the employees are very pleasant people who I am totally comfortable having in my house, whether I am home or away.
I asked 4 contractors to bid on this project. Ed Clouse of Nu-Tec submitted the lowest and most detailed bid. (One contractor never submitted a bid; one was considerably more expensive; another was about the same as Nu-Tec's but nowhere near as detailed.) It only took Ed a week to prepare his bid; the other contractors took considerably longer. The work actually began 2 working days ahead of schedule, and was completed in a timely manner. While this work was going on we had a new heating and cooling system installed for the entire house (using a separate HVAC contractor), and Ed's crew did a very nice job of converting the furnace space into a wonderful extra closet--something that hadn't been included in the original bid--at a very reasonable cost. Ed and the entire crew were very professional and easy to work with. Ed answered all my questions and made useful suggestions on how we could best use the new space. I'm very pleased with the results, and will definitely call Nu-Tec the next time I have a project.
