"thank you for the opportunity to respond to the customer comments. The customer continues to complain on something that was under guarantee for 1 year. I will take a look at what he complaint is about and he as has called once in the last 2 months and not several times. The contract was signed and payments were made to what he agreed upon. He continues to complain on things that are 2 years old. again, if he was not happy with contract he shouldnt of signed and agreed in which he did and paid for it. He waited for over a year to start complaining. we will resolve this issue but there will be a charge toward the customer because it is over the year unless we can find that from the start of the contract and during it was our fault. The last thing said as the contract came to an end was that he wanted more work and he would call us and he gave me the last scheduled check. if there was something wrong or he disliked our services then there was not indication. To our future customers, this doesnt reflect our professionalism and the way we do business. sometimes its not always the contractors fault. we will resolve this once and for all. thank you."
I learned as a first time homeowner that you get what you pay for as far as work being done to your home. Shoddy workmanship, not showing up and make you wait all day without a courtesy phone call, etc. Finding a good contractor in this town is a crap shoot. JKK is not the cheapest but not the most expensive. My track record with these gentlemen is why I never called anyone else to have construction work done when I needed something for my home. Armando Hernandez and his workers are honest and will not give you the runaround.
"Dear member, While we don’t agree with some of the comments that were made, we appreciate any feedback we receive. This allows us to gauge where we are as a company so we can improve our overall customer satisfaction. In regards to this situation, which occurred back in 2010, the member received insurance money to pay for the restoration of her house after extensive fire damage. The member decided to use these funds for other purposes. After payment for services rendered was not received, the job unfortunately had to be put on hold. We can’t as a company stay afloat and continue to serve the needs of our loyal customers if we’re doing work for free. Again, we are appreciative to find out what our customers have to say about our work, and we take all feedback to heart. We do however, encourage other customers to look at other Angie’s List reviews to get a more accurate representation of the quality of work we provide all of our customers. Regards, Armando Hernandez"
Note: Very important! For a project this big, make sure you hire an Architect first and have detailed plans done up to your liking BEFORE hiring a contractor! Armando recommended this when I first made contact with him even though I was planning on doing it regardless. This is the only way to get an accurate estimate. If not, the contractor will hire an architect AFTER the estimate and under cut the estimate too much causing cost overruns and multiple headaches. We used CeDans Architect LLC (Daniel Mendoza). He was awesome and drew up plans per my vision. He also tweaked our initial concept as a 2nd option--we went with his tweaked concept as it was a much better use of space and the roof line made the addition look as though it was part of the original house construction. Nice guy was there whenever we had questions and came out a couple times during construction and after it was done to view the work. Overall, I couldn't be happier!
