Forever Green Landscaping

Initially, Forever Green performed the work we contracted them to do in a timely manner, and we were happy with the completed product.  However, 2 months later, a few of our plants started to die off as well as patches of our sod.  Additionally, the tree in the front yard and one of the backyard palms didn't seem to be taking root.  I called, texted, emailed Arturo Morales for over a month asking him to come out and look at what was dying.  He never returned or responded to my messages.  I then asked a local friend to call on my behalf, and he immediately sent someone out that same day to replace one dying plant.  While he was at my house, I asked the worker about the dying sod patches and the condition of the trees not growing.  He told me it takes awhile for them to take root.  Another month goes by and my sod has become even worse as have the trees.  I again start calling, texting, and emailing Arturo Morales.  Two months go by without a return call.  I hired another company to come out and assess the situation and paid for an expensive fertilizer treatment in an attempt to save the sod we had left.  I also attempted to reseed the areas on my own with no growth success.  All the while I continued to try to contact Mr. Morales.  Again, I asked my local friend to call him and again, he sent someone over that same day to assess the situation.  This worker advised me that they had the same issue with the sod on other jobs and it might be the nursery they get it from.  He told me they would replace the sod, tree, and bush in the next day or two.  The following day he replaced 1/3 of the necessary sod and never returned with the remainder of sod or tree or bush.  My local friend again contacted Mr. Morales who told him he would do nothing for us because it wasn't his responsibility that we didn't maintain our "stuff".  My friend also asked him about our one year warranty on plants and trees and he claimed he gave no such warranty.  This infuriated me!  I have watered, mowed, fertilizer, trimmed on a consistent basis since day one of installation and have the water bills to prove it!  His Angie's List page says he provides a one year warranty on trees and plants as well!  He never once told us there was no warranty nor did his workers who he eventually sent out here after months of harassing him.  Additionally, he never returned any of my calls or messages asking for assistance with the dying foliage.  He only responded to my friend, who is not his customer.  In the end, he told my friend he would replace the tree in the front yard but that was it. He failed to do this as well.  I am a very patient person.  I attempted to reach out to Mr. Morales to rectify the situation for months on end.  If he had any issues with how I maintained the property or it affecting his Angie's List warranty, he should have spoken to me directly on the matter or at the very least have his worker relay the message.  While his initial work was acceptable, I would never recommend his company to anyone as his follow up was worse than nonexistent.  He ignored my requests, his worker made promises that he didn't keep, and in the end, he blamed me for his foliage failing to thrive.  Also, there is no excuse for not returning a customer's call.  If he had simply answered on my first attempt and advised there was no warranty, etc, I would have taken matters into my own hand or maybe even rehired him to help me get the yard thriving.  I feel the money I paid to Mr. Morales was a total waste and would not recommend him to anyone looking for long term quality work.  Additionally, I would highly suggest he take off his "one year warranty" sentence from his Angie's List profile.

My husband called Arturo Morales for an estimate. It took him a while to come to see our backyard. My husband felt he gave us a good estimate and agreed to hire Mr. Morales. He was puntual, responsible, worked every day for a week, asked for my input and did exactly what my husband and I asked him to do.
