Carpet West

They were okay, I was satisfied except that the carpet installed in hallway entering the bathroom wasn’t done correctly and hence we told the store about it.  They came out and stretched the carpet and everything turned out okay.  I got a phone call from the woman that sold us the carpet and she said that they went out of business so I don’t know if anyone could get hold of them.  They had measured incorrectly and then nobody wanted to take the blame for it but they came back and got enough carpet to do the area.

I initially contacted a few different flooring companies to give estimates on laminate or hardwood flooring for the carpeted areas in my house. Brian at Carpets West was very helpful with choosing the right flooring type based on the amount we wanted to spend, the type of traffic the floors would endure, and the look we wanted. He was unbiased in his opinions of hardwood vs. laminate, gave us great advice overall, and led us to choose a mid-priced maple flooring product. His installers were punctual, and although the installation took a few days longer than expected, we are very satisfied with the finished look. The installers were courteous, cleaned up the work space at the end of the day, and communicated clearly what to expect from day to day. I would happily work with Carpets West again and will be sure to recommend them to my friends and family.

Workmen arrived at 8 a.m. and completed job by 3 p.m. Workers are not actually from Carpets West but are hopefully fully licensed installers hired out by Carpets West to complete jobs. I noticed that the floors were left with many cloudy smudges  and a few footprints that would not come off. Service representative returned with workmen and I was told that stains were glue. Service rep  instructed workmen to rub floors completely with mineral spirits to remove stains. My concern is that mineral spirits is not recommend as cleaning agent for these floors which are very delicate. I feel that work was rushed and not completed with care. I would think that it would be good practice to look over the work completed and make sure it is presentable to the client before just saying "done" and goodbye.
