On, July 31, 2013 we purchased a new home from Tropicana Homes Inc. When the house was being built we selected a front door that was purchased from and installed by Atrium Wrought Iron. We love the door and it accents the house, we even named it, we call it (Front Door) :-). We experienced no problem with Front Door until early September 2014 when it started to stick and became increasingly difficult to open and close.
We attempted to fix the challenge ourselves, without success.
On Friday, September 26 2014 we called Atrium Wrought Iron and explained the issue to Mr. Ricardo Bocardo. As the house was no longer under warrantee, we expressed our desire to have Front Door fixed and that we expected to pay for the service call and repair/fixing of the problem.
Mr. Bocardo scheduled an appointment for Monday, September 29, 2014. He stated that he would call 30-45 minutes before the serviceman would arrive.
At approximately 08:45 Mr. Bocardo called and said that the serviceman should be at our home within 45 minutes.
At 09:30+- the representative (Sergio) of Atrium Wrought Iron arrived and immediately started his examination of Front Door. After a couple of Hmms and ah-hahs, he told us that the issue was in all probability the result of normal slab settling. He stated he believed he could resolve the issue by slightly grinding down a weld bead, and doing a couple of small adjustments.
After the adjustments, and Front Door working properly, he then proceeded to lubricate the hinges, did some paint touch up on various sections of Front Door, and re-caulked the glass portion of Front Door with a silicone caulk. He did a complete wipe down, and totally cleaned and sealed Front Door with a sealing spray, he adjusted the threshold, and did adjustment to the weather stripping. These things we did not expect, and were considerably more than just fixing the issue.
Sergio?s total time at our house was less than an hour, a good portion of which was explaining and educating my wife and I, and doing the extras that impressed us and confirmed that the was a true professional. When I asked for the bill, I was told that there was no cost for the service.
