Oc Landscapes & Irrigation

Unfortunately, this turned out not to be such a good idea. I was referred Oscar Cardoza from a friend of mine lawn person due to that lawn person not working in the area where I resided. I contacted Oscar and he seemed nice; however, over a short period of time it became clear that I always had to double check on appointments as he was prone to being a no show unless contacted literally the same day... and even then he didn't show, which led to me having to look for another lawn person. All seemed great initially, but even then there were signs of lack of responsiveness. I contacted him earlier in the week for an estimate. He indicated he'd be able to come by Saturday. I waited most of Saturday morning where I called him and he said he was on his way. He arrived and seemed nice. I let him know I wanted the bushes trimmed WAY back. He said they'd look bad for a while doing this, but I understood that as I had done it before at another residence. A day or so later he e-mailed the estimate, which I was quite pleased that he provided it in a neat format and, after getting another estimate, I decided to go with Oc Landscapes & Irrigation. For starters, Oscar never finished the initial job he started to the level of his estimate. His chain saw broke and he said he would come back by and finish the job on the next mowing of the yard. For the follow-up, I inquired whether he could come by Thursday / Friday. He said he'd swing by Friday / Saturday. Friday passed so I touched base Saturday to see whether he'd be able to make it... Of course he didn't and said he'd do it Monday. Touched base again Monday and asked if he couldn't make it to simply let me know. Of course he didn't let me know nor did he show, leaving me with a yard in dire need of mowing. I'm always nice and respectful of people I purchase services from. I only ask the same in return. Oscar seemed respectful and I'd hoped he'd be professional, but he took the money I paid him and never completed what he said he'd do. The only positive is he let me know pretty quickly the type of business person he was. I would gladly update the review if services were completed. It's just disappointing when you think you've found someone to provide services satisfactorily and it turns out to be a dud.
