He was a big disappointment. He unplugged something on the washer and it worked for a couple of days- I called him back because there was kind of an error message that kept coming back. He said he would look into it further and then he called me back a few times. He is a real nice guy but the problem is, between me waiting on him to call me back and me calling him, the washer wasn't working for ten days. We researched the error message on the internet and error signal indicated a lot of things. After a while, he never corrected anything and so, we just bought another one. I just felt like he left it unresolved; if he had looked on the internet, he could have seen this E6 error. He also charged us 89$ and nothing much got fixed.
Response from The Virtual Repairman
"Reviewing my service notes (I document every call), I found that I ran the unit thru the wash cycle and it did not malfunction. Customer was using an off-brand detergent that caused excessive sudsing in the wash cycle. On the Duet washer, this will give an F6 code, jst as a bad pump will do. I advised customer to change detergent and use the proper amount. Also cleaned the drain pump filter. Did not hear back from customer, so it was assumed all was well. This customer failed to mention a successful dishwasher repair on 10/3/2014, and it is unclear why I was never contacted regarding the washer issue until this review was published."

Within a few hours, James arrived and quickly solved the problem. He even provided solution for the lime build up in my dishwasher and coaching on breaking in my new oven. Very knowledgeable and customer service oriented! If the need arises, will use again.

Jim came out to diagnose the problem; ordered the part and had the washer fixed right up within a couple days. I've been using the Virtual Repairman for a few years now for both the washer/dryer and refrigerator. Both appliances were bought at the same time around 14 years ago and stay in top working condition not only because of Jim's care but also his teaching style! I learn something new about appliances every time I speak with him! I figure if he is willing to take the time to share tips with me while he works, it is only to my benefit to follow his instruction ... and the proof is in my appliances! Jim is always accommodating with my work schedule, shows up when he says he will and stays in communication through the whole process.

It went awesome. Jim Campbell is everything you expect in an ideal repairman. Like, he's the repairman that commercials about repairmen actually are about. He was extremely nice and respectful. Respectful to us, our time and our wallet. He came and assessed our problem and found it quickly. Told us what the part would cost and ordered it that way. Said it would be here in a week and it was and that we'd and quot;settle upand quot; when he came to install it. We did just that. The job was $129 not including parts. There wasn't a trip charge every time he came out. He told us that it's $129 until it's fixed and that was it.
I don't know what else to say. He doesn't know it yet, but he's our guy now.

He repalced the belt in my washer and gave me a lot of tips on how to properly use my washer. He was on time, professional, and knowledgeable. He gave me good suggestions about future work I had planned. I would hire him again in a heartbeat! I like that he has a website that you can go to and see step by step "how-to's" on how to fix things without calling him. He even agreed to come out on a Saturday.

Called to request appointment for service. Repairman gave me a time that he would be there the next day. He arrived at the exact time. Gave me an estimate on repair. Told me when he would return with the part. Knew that I was in a bind on time because I was leaving to go out of town so he made a special trip to help me out. Wonderful service. Highly recommend

I had trouble finding a repair company that would repair our LG refrigerator. I went to Angie's list (should have started here first) and found great reviews for the Virtual Repairman. I called and he warned me on the phone that the reason most repair companies do not want to repair LG appliances because there is only one distribution center for LG parts and their stock is usually low.
As warned we did have to wait 2 weeks for the part. The repair went smoothly. I will definitely use them again for our appliance repairs.

Jim was very nice and professional. He did exactly what he said he would do and was on time with his appointments. We were thoroughly impressed with Jim, both personally and with his ability to help us with our problem. We would definitely recommend him and will use him for any repair that he can handle for us in the future.

I contacted Jim on a Monday morning to see if he could take a look at our stove that was not working on the bake setting. Jim stated that he had another appointment down the street from us at 11 that same day so he stated that he would come check out our stove before that appointment since he would be in the area. Jim arrived earlier than he stated he would which was a pleasant beginning. He looked at our stove and had the problem diagnoised in around 15 minutes. He stated that he would need to go pick up the part for the repair and that he would be back later the same day to do the repair. He said that his labor would be $100 and that the part should not be any more than $25 for a total cost of $125. He showed up and replaced the part that same day but the final bill came to $183. He overcharged us for the part he replaced (igniter) based on a web check I did of the part number he replaced after the fact. We should have not paid any more than $25 for the part but he charged us $69 so I will check the price of the part before agreeing to the repair if I choose to give him a second chance.
Response from The Virtual Repairman
"This report is not factual in its entirety...my service charge has always been a flat fee, ranging from $109. to $129. depending on travel distance. The ignitor this customer mentions indeed sells for more than $69 if he were to drive to the parts house and purchase it himself. I was completely up front as I always am before committing a customer to any repair. Honesty is the best policy!"

Jim Campbell was on time (9 am), and quickly diagnosed the problem. He said he'd try to get the part that afternoon and call to set up next day installation appt. Instead, he called us early afternoon and asked if he could come do it then. So, due to a lucky schedule, we got it all wrapped up in one day. He also gave advice, such as replacing the extension cord (necessary evil, due to garage outlet location) with a 12 gauge cord (had 16), and a surge protector. We did so the next day. Jim was professional and efficient!

Fast, Efficient, and Friendly. Jim came in and went straight to work after a brief explanation. There isn't much to say when a guy just gets down to it and performs the work in a professional and efficient manner, and in the process saves you money. Great guy and great service. I highly recommend The Virtual Repairman.
