DS PROFESSIONAL DRYER VENT & CHIMNEY SWEEP SERVICE

This is the 3rd year we have used DS to clean our dryer vent and
chimney. However, we skipped last year and were paying the price. Smoke
was not being pulled up and out of the chimney as it should; instead, it
was pouring into the house. We called DS but had to wait because of
their heavy schedule - our fault for skipping a year, since we burn a
cord to a cord and a half each year and know that their recommendation
is once a year for that amount of wood burned.
Patty and Sam arrived 30 minutes late, but called ahead to say they would be late
because the previous job required that much longer to make repairs to
the firebox. In their typical methodical fashion, and wearing all the
proper safety gear, Sam went to work on the dryer vent with his vacuum
after moving the dryer away from the wall and Patty cleaned the firebox
and grate with her vacuum. When Sam finished the dryer vent cleaning he
moved to the living room and assessed the chimney condition by shining a
light up the chimney. He put on ear and nose protection and covered the
area around the fireplace with plastic sheeting to protect the house
from the black soot. Using a drill with various brushes and extensions
to allow cleaning to the top of the chimney and a vacuum to suck up the
falling soot, he spent approximately 30 minutes making certain it was
thoroughly clean. Next he inspected the firebox for cracks or other
things that might have to be repaired, but found none. He replaced the
grate, gathered his gear and went to do the final step in the process -
the roof. While he prepared to go up, Patty put the living room area
back like it was, removing all the plastic and closing the screen. Sam
checked the flashing around the area where the chimney exits the roof to
make certain that there were no areas exposed that could lead to water
leaking into the house. Sam gave the roof area a thumbs up.
Patty and Sam did a thorough job in the time frame they said, and the invoice
was exactly as quoted when I first contacted them. They will be on the
schedule next year for sure so we don't have a repeat of this year.

The owner of the company and one worker showed up on time and worked efficiently. They were friendly and knowledgeable. The owner made suggestions about future maintenance with respect for my budget. They were very careful when cleaning the fireplace of ashes, leaving the fireplace and the floor in front of the fireplace cleaner than it was before they arrived. I was quite impressed with the quality of work and friendliness. I highly recommend this business for the Wimberley/Dripping Springs area!

We found DS Chimney Sweep on Angie's List. Our area has a reputation for contractors flaking out and not showing up. Patti returned our call promptly, made an appointment, and then called and confirmed the specific time she would arrive. She was very professional, arrived on time with her assistant Sam, performed a chimney inspection and cleaning, and then ordered and installed a stainless steel chimney cap-damper system for us. We cannot recommend this company highly enough.

We spent about $85 on that work. We continued to use them because they were quick to come out whenever we needed them and they were always really friendly and professional. They also always vacuumed everything if they made a mess.

They did good work and were quick. They were efficient but not the best communicators. They had to come back to complete the job for example, and I wasn't sure when that was going to happen and had to eventually call them later to find out. I would have appreciated them taking the innitiave to call me for that followup. The were good other than that and I was happy with the warranty as well. I do recommend them.

It went very well, showed up right on time, got right to work, cleaned them very thoroughly, and made sure they cleaned up everything.

Everything went well. They actually asked if they could take a picture for the website, we had so much lint. Thanks for reducing our fire hazard and saving us energy (since we can dry clothes on one cycle now).

I called during a pretty busy week and got on the schedule for the next week. Patti and Sam showed up promptly at 9am and worked for about an hour. They were very thorough and clean. I got a printed report that showed the different parts of the inspection that were done. My dryer duct was very clogged, so I'm happy to have added that service.

Arrival? Early. Completion of work? About an hour. Made a big mess in the process for me to clean up later? Didn't happen. Price was what I expected from the get-go? Yes, and I got a discount as a repeat customer. Clean, neat, no mess, no bother. Would I call them again? You bet.
