Garzez Modern Welding

We saw Mr. Garzez's work on eBay, and contacted him to make a wrought-iron door for a house under construction. He took our call right away, and was eager to get our business. Only after the deadline had passed for the delivery of the door did we finnaly receive it. It was (1) late; (2) not as attractive or well-made as we hoped; and (3) lacked a cut-out for a door lock (the handle-hole was there, but no side cut for a lock). Caveat emptor: Mr. Garzez's prices SEEM good, but once he agreed to make our door, he stopped taking our phone calls (we called only when the delivery date was rapidly approaching). We had to use multiple cell phones to get his attention, including ones out of our area code--the phone calls from our area code went strangely unanswered. We suspected that he was dodging our calls, while answering calls from other area codes in order to secure new business. If so, this is the definition of unprofessional behavior. Our advice to anyone thinking about ordering a door or railing from Mr. Garzez: (1) add a month or two to the promised time; (2) purchase multiple cell phones, from multiple area codes, in order to get through to him once he's missed that deadline; and (3) expect the workmanship to be just average. In the end, we got a low-priced door, but wound up paying for it because of the delays to our home construction. I would not repeat that mistake, and would warn others from doing so.
