Mister Sparky

I liked that they were prompt in their response. They came out quickly. However I did not like the price of their price. I am pretty sure they are overpriced for what they do. Just because we didn’t have a tall ladder we found it way overpriced.

He fixed the problem and we would call Mister Sparky to repair future problems.

Mister Sparky had a deal going that you got a service visit and repair for $150 (or something on that ballpark). The tech came to our home, spent a few minutes walking around, told me a few terrifying stories about people dying doing home electrical work themselves, then told me that a ground wire for our pool equipment that was dangerous and that one of our kids would get electrocuted. He then proceeded to tell us that we would need higher amp service and that it would cost us about $2000 to do it. He spent about an hour working on a light in our garage, only to tell us that it would cost even more to fix that. I paid him $400 to look around and fix the garage light, his solution to get the garage light on? Wiggle or flip the switch back and forth a few times. He then stood in our kitchen and talked to me or on his phone for over an hour. I really felt that his job was to scare us into spending $2000, when we wouldn't do that he just bilked us for $400. My husband, who has safely done tons (and I mean tons) of home electrical work, was beyond furious. My husband has since done most of the repairs himself.

It went very well; he had everything is stock on his truck and finished the work in about 3 hours. Job well done.

Phillip is very professional and works quickly. He didn't even mind my yippy dog barking all the time. In fact he paid attention to
her and she quit barking. He had done work last year and was just as professional. That time he check all our wiring to make sure there wasn't any overload.

Tommy was at my front door literally 20 minutes from my initial call. Once he saw the nature of our problems he measured the main electrical service and found we had a bad neutral. He immediately shut off all service to the house. Once we talked to my neighbor and found they had similar issues we placed an emergency call to Centerpoint so they could adress and fix What turned out to be a bad line from a transformer for four households. Tommy was unable to double check his work as the power remained off far after he left. He returned the next day to adjust one of the surge supressors we installed. In closing I would add that this is the 2nd job the did for us. They are not the cheapest but are very professional/knowledgeable and have always have the equipment and parts to get the job done on the initial visit. I would not hesitate to call them at any time.

Mister Sparky was very prompt in showing up to the house within 6 hours of being called while the tech was very courteous and professional. The only problem that I had with Mister Sparky was the cost. I say this even though I agreed to the price beforehand. Mister Sparky had approximately $200 of material costs with the balance being labor. I figured out that I was charged approximately $400 per hour for the workj and after it was complete, I feel like that is too high for an electrician. Mister Sparky says they do not charge by the hour but by the job. I will try to find someone next time on Angie's list that does the same quality of work but will charge more like $200 per hour. I have nothing to say except positive things except about the price.
