Joshua Builders (DBA David Hamrick Construction) offers management of large and small construction projects for residential homes, steel buildings, and commercial build outs. We can be your contractor or be your resource as the General Contractor to build your project yourself. Recently, we have diversified into demolition work, site & dirt work, and general tractor services including mowing pastures and commercial properties. Last, we offer foundation and leveling services for slab on grade and pier on beam homes.

Response from David Hamrick Construction
[member name removed] is correct in that I did refer Rick Simpson to do concrete work at his home. Rick had multiple issues installing the concrete at [member name removed]' home, including a concrete truck that showed up several hours late, and an unexpected heavy rain which complicated and nearly destroyed the finish. Part of the patio was ruined, and Rick cut out the bad part and re installed it. There were multiple delays in finishing the job because Mr. Simpson is a small contractor, and was and is working other jobs in order to have the funds to correct the work at [member name removed]' home. [member name removed] wanted stained concrete, which inherently takes longer than usual to install. It takes 7 days to simply be able to install the stain after concrete is poured. Since some of the concrete had to be replaced, a minimum of 14 days were required to be able to stain. When Rick did stain the concrete, [member name removed] was happy with it (from what I am told). A minimum of two days is required to install a seal over stained concrete. With weather issues, sometimes it may take several days. Approximately a week went by and [member name removed] called Rick Simpson to go over and add more stain to darken some light areas. Rick did so, and [member name removed] has now decided he does not like the dark spots and wants to entire patio re stained. [member name removed] is also correct in that I have stopped returning phone calls/texts from him. Anytime I give a referral, I try to make it clear that just because I have never had an issue with the trade/individual I provide them does not mean that they will have the same results. I cannot be held liable for simply trying to provide a good trade. [member name removed] has sent me countless text messages, often threatening and using explicit language. All I did was try to provide a referral. Because of the threats and bad language, I do not respond to him any longer. The situation is completely out of my control, and I actually regret giving the referral. Meanwhile, Rick Simpson is still trying to make it right. I have been using & referring Rick Simpson and his guys for several years, and this is the first time I have had anyone complain about his work. In fact, if you look at the first review I have here from Tom & Linda C., Rick Simpson was the sub-contractor on that job as well.

David was very responsive, prompt and professional in working with us. His construction knowledge is very apparent and very much appreciated since between me and my husband, we had many questions about what needed to be done. The only reason we have not moved forward with hiring David to get the plans drawn up and build the home is because of a possible change in family plans. David Hamrick Construction is the person/company we will choose to use when we do move forward with plans to build the home. When this happens, I will add additional information about the building process.
Description of Work: David came to our house to discuss possibilities for building a small home on our property. He worked up specifications with a quote for the home using our input combined with his expertise.

Excellent!! After calling Joshua Builders, David return the call immediately to set up an appointment. David showed up on time and with more information than we could have asked for. We were very impressed with David's honesty and enthusiasm during our meeting, which lasted for about two hours. All our questions were answered and David also provided us with information we haven't even thought of. David has also followed up with us since our meeting, to answer anymore questions we might have. Like I said, very impressed.

Everything has gone as planned. The only delays have been for weather and special order (windows). I wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future.

The initial work up was a little slow due to the engineering, but we were keep informed as to the progress. It was apparent that they enjoyed what they did and took great pride in their workmanship. They were a little slow but I'd rather have slow and great than fast and slapped together. The porch is awsome and it will last for generations.
Description of Work: We live on the side of a sloped area going down to a bayou. Our home is very irregularly shaped. We wanted to add on a covered porch. It is high off of the ground, They custom built a back porch which is awsome.
