RUN !!!! DO NOT USE THIS "COMPANY" !!! My mistake was in not using an established company with a reputation to protect. After our experience, I can only surmise that Al Krak / A-1 American Floors has no such concerrn for repeat business or referrals. Al Krak had installed hardwood floors in a couple rooms in our existing house many years and I thought at the time did a decent job at that time. However, after our current experience I can only guess that Al had gotten extremely lucky in that our old concrete slab had no issues and required little if any floating or prep work. In hindsight I should've picked up on the red flags ... I had to ask repeatedly for a final contract with details of the work with prices that he would perform and even then when I got it, it was handwritten on letterhead which included a business address which I later found out does not exist ... he would only take cash ... has no business bank account ... he requested payment of all work (with the exception of one final section which thank GOD he did not do) but even then had not completed all of the work we paid him for ... And then, he skipped out and would not return our phone calls or text messages for weeks while we waited to learn whether he would finish the job and fix his errors ... FINALLY, he showed up again and promised to remediate his work. However, again, he did not return our calls for days and then finally had the nerve to write me and tell me "I don't think I can make you happy ... sorry we couldn't work things out!" WHAT? Al Krak has made our new dream home a nightmare. AVOID him at all costs. This man may talk a good game and promise good customer service but I wouldn't trust him now to install a light bulb. We dealt with him in good faith; however, he apparently does not have this same integrity. He may have been cheaper overall but his errors and sloppy work are costing us thousands. Contractors like this need to be put out of business.
