KAR MEDIC

The vehicle was brought in for air conditioner service. I was charged $400 and told that the problem was fixed. I paid the money and upon driving the vehicle I found that the issue was not completely resolved. I immediately returned the vehicle to the shop. Two days past and they had not found the problem. The next day they called me and stated that the vehicle would not start. They then claimed that it was due to the anti-theif system. They began the "shotgun approach" to troubleshooting. They claimed that the antenna was defective and replaced it. Of course this did not fix the problem. Then they stated that they had called an Auto Locksmith out to debug the issue. It took over a week to get a locksmith to look at the problem. Finally, they stated that the locksmith said that the computer needed to be replaced (by this time it this was EOB Friday and they are closed on the weekend). I called today (Monday) to find out the status of the vehicle and they said that the computer was replaced but now need to be programmed. It was being to be towed to the dealership for this. I have not had my vehicle for over two weeks and now going into the third week. I would not recommend using Kar Medic to anyone. I had to call them to get any updates on the vehicle status (although they had promised to get me updated). They are unprofessional and seem to be clueless most of the time. Kar Medic is the epitome of "shade tree" mechanics.
