Mr. Gordon is a nice man as are his employees. However, much of their work had to be re-done at my request. Mr. Gordon felt my initial review was unfair, and he pointed out that he repaired many things at his expense. (Of course, I would think errors should be corrected at his expense, but I do not want to suggest he did not try to make things right, and many times he did.) I believe he was stretched thin, and that resulted in some work he might not normally find acceptable; it also extended the amount of time my project took, which I'm sure was longer than he anticipated, as well. I think for some projects he has good crew members, while others require things to be redone. Maybe he is just trying to help them learn the trade. But, it cost him, and me, time and money in the long run. A lot of miscommunication with verbal suggestions that ended up being inaccurate and costing more than what was told.

The baths needed to be updated they updated by taking out the soffits from 80's & texture was put on walls instead of wallpaper. I had new sinks, faucets, granite, & toilets put in earlier. They refreshed cabinets & painted walls & ceilings. They installed the new lights & put up molding around mirrors. This was abt 5k

The master bath was retiled w/ new shower & tub was repainted w/ walls & ceiling. New lights installed took down soffits w/ molding around mirrors & molding installed in bath. They put down new tile in master bath.

This took place in winter months Jan thru First of March.

The process was smooth.  Came and took the existing fence down.  We had to wait for several days to obtain a permit to start on the new fence.  Once the permit was obtained, the completion of the new fence was completed within the timeframe promised.  Great job.  It looks really good.

The job was very stressful and it took forever to complete, but the outcome is beautiful and we are happy.

Everyday we came home we could tell that his worker were decated and good worker, we saw a change in our master bathroom everyday, they took down wall and build us a beautiful master bathroom, enlarge my closet and gave us the royal treatment.
they clean up each day, and left our home as clean as it can get while the remodeling was going on.

We were really pleased with the final renovations. They did everything we asked and were efficient and cleaned up everything when they finished. Clay was nice, kept in touch with how things were progressing, and answered any questions we had. He and his crew fixed anything that we asked him too. The job was finished in a timely manner.

The problems started when he allowed a non-licensed handyman to saw through the suspension of our home. He also allowed the electrician to cut our ADT line. He put the wrong shingles on our roof and had to re-shingle the house. We paid for all of the materials in our house. He kept coming back asking for more money to pay for the construction of our home. He used a wet saw to cut and now we have saw dust throughout our entire house! We had a heavy rain and our garage ended up with twelve inches of standing water because he didn't properly level the garage. It destroyed all of our personal property in the garage. He could have built a trench that would have redirected the water flow. He said that he doesn't have to fix the issue now because fixing issues with the new garage is not in the contract? After I informed the service provider I was leaving a review on Angie's List, he went off on me. His total lack of respect he has for me as a client is rediculous. He has sent me text messages with swear words and deragatory comments. He is threatening to put a lien on our home because we have refused to pay this last installment because he has destroyed our house! I had to file a formal police record against Clay, as he has become threatening. He has been abusive and unprofessional throughout this process! We have paid a different service provider to come out and fix the issue with the garage. In all honesty, the money we are spending to pay, repair, and recover our losses from this experience would equate into him owing us money! He is trying to say that another construction company created the dust in the home. We went to LA on the 1st of February. We came home on the 6th of February. The plumbers he hired for the project had opened a valve that flooded the entire house! Now we have to remove our entire front of our home to have it fixed from water damage! Everything this man has done has turned into a disaster.

In general, they were good. They did a pretty good job. Their price is good and their initial response was good. They were responsive when I had issues. The only problem I had was about the communication and clarity of what we discussed verbally. There are a lot of miscommunication and misunderstanding on that. In the end they did resolve it and they did take care of the issue.

I was having the old pressed wood siding taken off the house and replaced with Hardyboard instead of wood. His people completed the last front window and painted it.

He installed a kitchen ceiling fan and a smart meter for keeping my electrical use in check.

They did a fantastic job!  Everything was top notch.  There was one little area that I wasn't pleased with and they came right out to fix it.  They did a lot more than what was expected of them.

Excellent! Mr. Gordon and his crew made our kitchen beautiful. They took what was truly a nightmare of a kitchen and made it into our dream kitchen. He and his crew were punctual, always showed up when scheduled; they were neat, professional and take pride in their work - which is exceptional. They finished the work in the standard amount of time for a kitchen our size.

During Labor Day weekend of 2007, we hired a company to replace 20 windows and mulls in our 10 unit condo complex. The general contractor hired by this company was Gordon Residential and Commercial Remodeling. Clay Gordon dropped off his installers and left the job site. We have never (as of May 24, 2008) seen Clay back at the job site. During the initial install, windows were installed crooked, not sealed, mechanisms were broken so that windows would not open correctly, entire broken window panes were left on the grass in the courtyard along with a large razor blade, and none of the mulls were installed. After 9 months, and more than 140 phone calls to the original company representatives and Clay Gordon, as well as ten missed appointments where they would schedule and would not show up, we still do not have resolution and completed windows. The amount of $7087.00 was paid in full by 9/04/07. In May of 2008, installers attempted to straighten the windows with wood shimmies which left wide gaps between the wood frame and windows. They filled these large gaps with two different colors of regular caulking instead of completing the job correctly. The windows now have clearly visual globs of white and beige caulk against the tan frame and the wood trim is crooked. They also bent two of the frames as they tried to straighten them. One window still needs complete replacement as it will not stay open from the mechanism they broke on the initial install and we are still missing two mulls. The attempt to "fix" the windows is very substandard and we cannot get the company or the contractor to return our phone calls. In mid May, we contacted the corporate office in Atlanta to attempt to get resolution. Corporate has agreed to hire a different franchisee from the Arlington area to come and complete our job to correct the huge mess that Clay Gordon Residential and the other company left behind. I would absolutley NEVER recommend him or his services. Clay makes up more excuses than you can imagine for not showing up and now he refuses to pick up phone calls.
