Auster Transportation

We hired Auster Transportation to move our household from one location to another. Their moving crew came out and was very hospitable and friendly, actually very professional, however damage was done to a very valuable piece of our furniture - a unique wrought iron bar stool with a leather seat. We discovered this as we were sorting & unpacking our stuff a couple days after they left. I begin checking with a couple of people (who were with us) who watched movers pack the truck, and the movers did not properly use the Uhaul blankets we provided nor did they properly pack the barstools themselves. We contacted the owner of the company - Norman Jones - and he flat out refused to fix or replace the item. All I really wanted was it to be repaired for probably $ $200, but he flat out refused to do it. As I said, we have multiple witnesses confirming the truck was not packed properly, and additional we have detailed photographic evidence of the damage to THIS piece of furniture, other pieces of furniture & our walls. Even though additional damage was done to our walls and other furniture by the movers, that is not why I am filing this complaint. I am filing the complaint because of the fact that this one piece of furniture is very valuable to us and this company & its owner - refuses to take responsibility for their liabilities. I will not use this moving company again, and I recommend others do not as well.
