STARR PAINTING

Shoddy work.  They did not prep surfaces.  Just painted over.  I felt like they did not know what they were doing.  And I did complain to the owner.

The work was started in mid June and just after starting, was delayed for a couple days due to rain.  I'm ok with that - that's part of doing work outdoors.  It had been agreed that they would move everything off of the deck before staining, including the tiki torches that were tie-wrapped to some of the posts and we agreed on a dark stain.  When the work started, the guy had not removed the torches and was staining them, as well as the deck, with the wrong stain color.
In the end, they did their best to correct the problem and most people would not be able to recognize that the wrong color was applied to a small part of the deck.  While I wasn't happy about the error, they did their best to correct the issue.
The main reason for the low grades is that once they've started the work, it was almost impossible to get a response from them.  I would call and leave messages without any acknowledgement that they received the call or were doing anything.  This scenario repeated itself multiple times and even after I explained that I was ok with delays as long as I heard from them from time to time.  Their excuse was that they were very busy but this is not acceptable to me because there was a period of 7 days where I left emails without hearing from them or seeing them working on anything.  To the best of my recollection, the project took about 14 days to complete where it should have taken 4 days.
I have painting that needs to be done inside the house but will have to find another contractor to perform that work because I can't afford to have the wrong color on the walls and then go a week before hearing from them or seeing someone working to fix the mistake.

I called Starr Painting for an estimate and got a call back right away. Nate came to my home and gave me an estimate, and approximate time they could begin the work. They were able to start two days later. I can't begin to tell you how happy I was with the overall professionalism this company showed from start to finish. It took them approximately 2 weeks to finish the job and it looks absolutely beautiful, they did exactly what I wanted. Overall my husband and I were extremely happy with this company, and we would highly recommend them to family and friends.
