I had four clocks that needed some TLC. One double-weight Vienna regulator that hadn't worked in about five years, a schoolhouse regulator clock with calendar that stopped working about three years ago, an Emperor kit grandmother clock that wasn't chiming clearly and a Korean antique clock that I had some questions about. John was prompt on arrival, was in the house two minutes (or less) when he had the back off the Emperor grandmother clock. In seconds he said "here's your problem," fixed it, the back on, going strong. The second clock he looked at was my double-weight Vienna regulator. It used to be finicky and required precision leveling, but one weight had come off the nylon wire and the clock wouldn't run long enough for the weight to drop to get back on the wire. John had the works out of the clock so quickly! Took one look and said your wire is all caught up in the works. He fished it out, the weight dropped, works back in the clock and now working perfectly! I was so thrilled to hear it strike again. The third clock, my schoolhouse regulator with calendar needed more work and he took the works with him to repair. The fourth clock, the Korean clock, he recommended be left alone as it runs well. The next morning John called and asked if he could come over as he had the schoolhouse works ready to go. He came on time, had the clock repaired and running in nothing flat! I'm so excited to have that clock working again. John is a whiz - knows and understands clocks. Price was extremely fair. Really nice man, too.
