Overall, I was please with there work and would recommend them to my friends.
Overall, I would rather wait several weeks and have a trusted, well-respected company replace my roof than go with a company who will do it quickly, but will do a crappy job and cut corners.
Thank you Denton Trinity Roofing!
BY TEXAS STATE LAW, YOU CANNOT WAIVE THE DEDUCTIBLE. Although insurance paid for $15,000 of the roof, I paid the remaining $3,000 out of pocket (deductible).
The cost was also a little more because Denton Trinity Roofing hand nails all their shingles. This becomes an issue because with a nail gun, it is sometime difficult to tell if the nail has gone into the decking on the roof. It also ensures that the nail is driven to the proper depth which can also be difficult if multiple people are using nail guns on the same compressor.
Now, I had a pretty substantial leak in my house as well. Part of this was due to the design of the house with multiple steep gables very close to one another. I told Alan about it and he said they would replace the roof and see if it was still an issue. After replacing the roof, I still had issue with really heavy rains. Alan, sent a guy out to install larger flashing in a dead valley next to a gable. A year later with heavy rains, I was still having an issue. This time Jeff came by and said that he would take care of it. He wanted to find out what was really going on. Long story short, they ended up redoing that section of the roof and put in some pretty intricate metal work to eliminate the problem. They did it at no charge. Guess what? No leaks yesterday.
Very happy with the quality of work. More importantly, very glad that I spent a little more money to buy a product where the owner will stand behind his work. Please don't go with someone that comes and knocks on your door. Chances are that you won't be able to find them when things go wrong.
"Member, My records indicate that you initially called in on April 28, 2011 as a result of the storms that began on April 10, 2011. We have been telling our existing and potential customers when they call in that we are running a bit behind but that we will call before we come out. I called on May 4, 2011 to see if you had received your insurance paperwork before I came out. You told me that you had not but would call when it came in so I kept your call sheet in a waiting to hear file. I called again on May 17, 2011 to follow up as I had not heard from you yet. At that time you told me that you had chosen another contractor. I apologize for the misunderstanding."
"2008 WAS AN UNPRECEDENTED YEAR OF ROOFING MATERIAL PRICE INCREASES. BY DECEMBER OF 2008 MATERIAL PRICES HAD INCREASED A TOTAL OF 70% LAST YEAR. I APOLOGIZE FOR THE CONFUSION, BUT ONLY $875 OF YOUR INCREASE WAS THE TEAR OFF AMOUNT. THE REMAINDER WAS THE DIFFERENCE IN MATERIAL COST FROM OUR ORIGINAL ESTIMATE GIVEN TO YOU IN APRIL TO WHEN YOU REQUESTED THE SECOND IN JULY. AS STATED ON THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT THE ORIGINAL PRICE WOULD HAVE BEEN HONORED UNTIL MAY 31, 2008. UNFORTUNATELY, WE WERE BOTH CAUGHT IN AN UNPRECEDENTED VOLATILE MARKET. I APOLOGIZE FOR NOT HAVING COMMUNICATED BETTER. SINCERELY, ALAN CHAMBERLAIN PRESIDENT"
"I PERSONALLY APOLOGIZE FOR THE NON RESPONSE. I SEE IN OUR COMPUTER WHERE YOU CALLED IN. I AM AT A LOSS AS TO EXPLAIN WHY THIS WASN'T FOLLOWED UP ON. SINCERELY, ALAN CHAMBERLAIN PRES/OWNER"
