Am Plumbing

We have used this service twice. The first time was very professional and 'Brian' who is super experienced did an outstanding job. The second time we called was for a blocked sewer line, which we have had occur and know is from a tree root. Brian was not available and so the company sent 'James.' James arrived and proceeded to use undersized equipment and a cutting blade that was completely inadequate to do the job. We know this because of the prior visits we have had where the tree root was successfully removed were all done by companies with larger machines and bigger cutting blades. James tried to blame his inability to remove the clog and restore the flow on a "collapsed sewer line." We explained to him that we have had the same line camera'd several times and that the line only had a tree root growing into it. We also told him that it appeared his equipment was not large enough to remove the root blockage. The next morning Brian arrived with a bigger machine and bigger cutting tool. He was successful in clearing the line. But then we were billed for 1/2 of Jame's time, or $100 for his failed attempt due 100% to his poor and undersized equipment. We told Brian that $300 to clear a tree root line was excessive, and that this was twice what most services charged. Brian said that he had spoken with the owner of the company and they felt this was a fair price. This is the LAST time we will use AM Plumbing. They sent a poorly equipped plumber to our home and then billed for failure. If you don't mind paying them to FAIL, then by all means use AM Plumbing. We will never use them again.

They got it done. And replaced the A/C copper tubing to pvc to the junction point. Also put a t-connector so I can now easily do the once a month of pouring in a cup of bleach.

Annoying... Not interested in doing the work at all...

Great!  2nd time I have used them in the past few months.  Dispatch went over and above to try to fit me in on short notice.

Amazing!  I called him after a different plumber (Brown & Sons) told me the same work would cost $995.  I am new to Denton and am trying to find providers that are honest and reasonable.  I called at approximately noon on Saturday and he was there within a few hours.  He was very nice and personable.  He performed the work quickly, and even at the overtime rate,  he charged much less than I would have paid anywhere.  Most plumbers I've dealt with charge you a flat rate for each service so they can inflate the bill.  This plumber only charged me for his actual time spent working.  Impressive!  He's my new guy!

I called numerous plumbers closer to where we live in the Aubrey/Pilot Point area.  Most could not get to us until the next day even though we had no ability to use our toilets.  I called AM Plumbing in Denton.  When the woman who answered the phone learned that we couldn't use the toilets she indicated they would work us in.  By 11 am I received a call that they were on their way.  They arrived when they said they would.  They took care of the blockage.  The guy explained what they were doing.  They were very polite and professional.  They were less expensive than one quote I received from a local plumber of $185.  I will definitely call them again.

They also fixed a leaky washing machine. We have used them a couple of times and we are really happy with them. One of the things I liked most is every time we use them they have been really open about what they are doing and explaining what they are doing. Also, pricewise, they always seem to have a really good price. I bought the water pressure regulating valve myself and they gave me the option of putting it on myself to save on labor. I only needed one of their guys to come out to put the valve in so I ended up saving money.

My toilet was leaking around the base.  The plumbing company came and had to come back twice in the same day because the toilet was not properly fixed.  The plumber did not even check to see if it would flush.  When the toilet was flushed, sewage waste began backing up in all the bathroom fixtures.   When the plumber came back, his explanation was, "i forgot to check to see if it would flush".
We were charged for a second house call even though the problem was not corrected during the first visit.   The next day the toilet was leaking again.  When we called to set up another appointment we were informed that we had an outstanding bill and they could not come until the bill was paid.   I had no problem with this, except we had used this company many times since said bill was created and we were never told.  While we were trying to work out the problem with one of the owners, MARY, we found out that despite our continued service with the company they did not have our correct information in their system; unacceptable considering the number of times we have used the company over the past 5 years.  The woman, MARY, was very very rude and was only slightly apologetic when she realized they had entered our information incorrectly.   I would normally overlook such a rude person but i was so upset that i had to do something, which is why i am posting on here. 
never never never use A M Plumbing or A & M Plumbing!!!!   Why two fronts for the same business?..,.weird!

Recently, my partner and I have been experiencing multiple issues with our plumbing. I had contacted AM Plumbing and scheduled an appointment with Amanda. She was very helpful and eager to answer my questions. The morning of the appointment, the service men called and let me know that they were on their way. When the service men arrived, I led them to our main bathroom and informed them both that the toilet is rocking back and forth and that it was also leaking. I then led them both to the master bedroom and informed them both that there had been a horrible odor coming from the shower. Without investigating the issue, one of the service men had informed me that this was possibly due to the P-trap being dried out and/or cracked. He suggested that I turn on the shower, that if this did not "take care of the issue" than they would have to come back to look at this issue. I took the advice and this did help for a short while, but as soon as the water was shut-off the smell had come right back. One of the service men questioned whether or not we had any issues with draining. I informed him that we were having a slight issue with draining and they had both observed the sink in the main bathroom which was full and would not drain. Neither of the two service men did anything to alleviate that matter. Both men had worked on the toilet, they had removed it and replaced it. The rocking was fixed and, at that time, I had been informed that the leaking had been fixed as well. I paid for the service visit and they left. Within five minutes of the service men leaving, my partner had returned home and needed to take a bath. As he had turned on the water, he noticed that the sewage was backing up and filling in the bathtub. We had to call the service men back to look at this. The issues we were having then were far worse than when they initially arrived. I had to pay a secondary fee for them to come back. Upon their leaving, we were informed that we would need to schedule a third appointment to have the pipes scoped. I had immediately requested this be done at that visit as he had told me it could be done, but he then pressed that they would have to schedule this for another day. While they were still in our home, one of the service men made an appointment to be back at our house on 01/31/2013 before 09:00 a.m. to do this. I paid the secondary fee and they left for the second time that day. My partner and I were under the impression that the appointment was set, but I received a call from one of the owners, Mary, on 11/29/2013 at 11:31 a.m. to schedule the appointment. When I called back, I spoke with Amanda and informed her that the appointment had already been set. Amanda then informed me that the service men should not have done this as they had no idea what other appointments they had that day. I received a call back later that day from Mary to schedule the appointment for Friday (02/01/2013) before 09:00 a.m. Today, the toilet in the main bathroom began to actively leak again. My partner called AM Plumbing and spoke with Mary. He requested that they come back out to fix this, that the matter has gotten worse since they came out to work last week. Mary was very abrupt, rude, and continued to use foul language. I had called the office back to cancel the appointment for 02/01/2013 and I, too, spoke with Mary. While on the phone with me, Mary seemed to be somewhat apologetic; however, she did continue to use foul language and tried to justify their inability to adequately do their job on a system change. I am sympathetic to this matter and verbalized as such; however, Mary used this to continually justify her attacks. We will never use this company again and will inform anyone and everyone we know of how poor their professionalism is.

After going under the house and not finding a leak, they went all over the inside and out to locate the running water.  Workmen that had been here the evening before had evidently washed up and left one of the faucets cracked open.  Although no emergency was going on, AM did inspect the pipes under the house and gave us a clean bill of health.

I had a quote from a major name plumber to do the same job for $1500. When I explained my problem to Mary she quoted me for the same exact job for hundreds less. She even told me over the phone how I could do it myself. I am very satisfied with the job done and have used this company for other unrelated plumbing needs many times since. I appreciate that they tell me suggestions how I can fix it to help me save money. I feel this company is experienced, honest, and in the business to keep their customers by not overcharging them.
