ALLSTATE INSURANCE CO

The initial work looked great.  Now, several years later, the paint and coating are peeling off my truck.  I contacted the preferred vendor, Prestige Paint and Body, to repair the bad repair because Allstate guaranteed a lifetime warranty on the repairs.  Conveniently, the preferred vendor informed me they 'lost' their hard drive and had no record of the repair.
I contacted Allstate to assist and believe it or not, Allstate indicated that my repair and detailed information was now on a 'legacy' system and they could not easily obtain the details any longer.  I pushed them to get this resolved and they finally found some information but they could only find where someone had cashed the insurance check at a bank.
Allstate informed me they could not help any longer because they do not know who cashed the check.
I have been totally screwed out of a $4500 repair because Allstate cannot keep accurate records or they simply want to make an excuse not to address my repair because my truck is now older.  Regardless of the age of my truck, they should have been more proactive and taken care of my issue.  They obviously had record of the repair and they also knew they used Prestige Paint and Body during that period.
Why am I, the consumer, screwed on this deal?  I paid Allstate at the time all insurance payments on time and also built into my payments is the guarantee that my repairs would be taken care of for a lifetime.  
They have obviously and purposely shoved this case under the rug and hope it goes away.
I am very disappointed in their lack of effort to get this issue resolved.  
For those using Allstate or considering Allstate, I highly recommend that you avoid them.  They are trying to protect their own pockets and will screw the consumer over if given a chance.
I have been using Geico now for 5+ years and have been treated like a real customer.  Geico has taken care of all issues that I have presented and they are much more customer oriented and proactive compared to Allstate.
