Pat Martin is the owner and the primary vet there. I'm sure he's got a couple of other vets that work for him. He's got an excellent reputation in town as a vet. He's a small and large animal vet. My dogs got old and they finally passed away. I haven't gotten any new ones but if I have new dogs, I would use Pet Martin. It's about a year and a half ago that I lost my last yorkie.

I have used Dr. Martin several times for my horses and my dogs and I
could not be happier with the services rendered. They are always very
nice and respectful, and he has saved my animals lives on multiple
occasions. I would not trust my animals with any other vet in town.

This vet is very, very good with most of your common pets and I believe they do horse and cows as well. Anyway, the service is always excellent. They really care about you and your pets. The downside is that they are ALWAYS busy. So if you have an emergency, then you'll be waiting quite awhile. Which is another point, there are no emergency vets in Del Rio which is very sad. For almost any emergency, you have to try Uvalde or go all the way to San Antonio. But the vets at Val Verde Animal Hospital do know what they are doing and can take care of your pets.

We had just moved to Del Rio and the first vet we went to was garbage. Val Verde Animal Hospital was the opposite. The building was clean, the vet and vet techs were very friendly. The vet took all of my concerns into consideration for the care of my pet. They listened to what I had to say and asked a lot of questions. They answered any questions that I had. The prices were pretty average for any veteranarian. Nothing great but not crazy. The only bad part is that they are so busy that it's hard to get pets in. If you are having an emergency they will get your pet in, but for routine check-ups and shots it can take almost two weeks in advance. Overall, really great place to take your pets in this little town!
