I had a 15 year old builder grade kitchen I decided to remodel. John gave me the best quote, particularly since I have seen some of the houses he has built in my area. All the contractors John sent out were top-notch and all did a thorough and professional job. John called and/or came by daily during the construction process. My dingy oak cabinets now look like the new ones you see in the home stores -- the detailing is amazing! John's paint crew were truly artists. The countertops are stunning; I even enlarged the bar area to make it a breakfast bar and it looks like it was part of the original kitchen. The backsplash is spectacular. I had another contractor here for an unrelated repair and he was in awe of the tile work. The remaining rooms went from dingy and flat to warm and appealing with the great job done by the painters. I wanted a fan in a room that had no overhead fixture. John's electrical contractor was here and installed the fan, removed an outdated overhead fixture in the entry and replaced it with a recessed light and replaced a dated fixture in my dinette. All this was accomplished in an hour and a half. John kept me abreast of when each contractor would be here throughout the process and double checked that I was completely satisfied after every phase. I would recommend Matteson Building Company to anyone wanting to renovate their home. I centainly would use them again if I ever decide to do more work on my house.
