On first phone contact they were pleasant and helpful in setting up an appointment. On the day of the appointment, the office called about a half-an-hour before the time to say the estimator would not be able to make it and he would call me back to reschedule. The original appointment was for a Wednesday morning. Three days later, no phone call, but the estimator shows up at our door on a Saturday morning saying he's ready to look at the work. We went around the house and I explained what I needed to be done and he was knowledgeable and helpful. On the following Monday I got a call from the estimator with a dollar amount for the job.  I asked him for and did receive a quote via email that afernoon. The estimate was in the ball park for the work and seemed to me to cover the job except for the painting of the downspouts which we had extensively discussed when he was on-site.  Here's where I made my mistake, I failed to ask and get up front, important information such as: are you licensed to do this work?, do you have proof of insurance (liability and workmen's compenstation)?, do you offer any workmanship guarantees? Those questions should of been answered in the first meeting. I had a check list but in my haste I forgot to use it.
