We called Gabby's Tree Service, Thursday afternoon, late, around 4:45 in the afternoon. That day we had had a pretty heavy rain storm and one of the big top branches on our tree cracked and landed partway on our roof. The branch was also covering half of our driveway and you really couldn't see our house anymore! So we called Gabby, like I said, late in the day and we talked to his office. They said they would have Gabby call us back, probably that day.
We then proceeded to call 3 other tree service companies that we found on Angie's list and left one message, and spoke to the other two companies where they promised to get in touch with us soon. Very soon after that, Gabby calls us, gets the information about the tree, gets our address and then says he is coming to our house, right then, even though it was past five o'clock, to give us a quote and let us know what we should do in our situation.
Our tree was very large, higher than the second story in places, and not in the very best of shape so we were unsure if we were going to just have him remove the large broken branch or just take the whole tree down. As I said, it was not in good shape and we had been thinking for years that maybe we should remove it for safety reasons. Gabby right away inspected the tree and advised us that it would be better to remove the tree instead of just removing the broken branch. He gave us a quote which included removing the tree and grinding the stump. He said he would come back the very next morning and start the job.
The next day, a crew of four workers came along with their wood chipper to get started removing the tree. They were very friendly and inspected the roof and the tree to determine the best course of action to cut it down. One worker climbed up the tree with a chainsaw and the other three stayed on the ground to remove branches as they were cut and feed them to the wood chipper.
Once they got started they never stopped! When anomalies were discovered, the man cutting the branches would call me over to show me the reasons that our tree was disintegrating. Once the tree was down, one of the workers went around with a blower and a rake cleaning up everything. Then, once they had all of the tree in the truck, they actually used a shovel and rake, like a broom and dustpan and cleaned the grass of all debris. When they were almost done, Gabby came with the stump grinder and prepared to grind the stump. Once he was finished, he cleaned up any mess that he had made whilst grinding and made a pile over the hole where the tree used to be.
You really can't even tell that they were there because the yard, driveway and street are so clean. Well, except for the fact that an enormous tree is gone. It is just gone. Almost like, poof!
Oh, and they don't accept credit cards so I paid with a check.
They were so fast, friendly and professional. I am incredibly pleased and I would use them again. I would recommend them to anyone needing tree services!
