Bathtub Restoration
I found West Shore Home on Angi and contacted them to get an estimate for remodeling my very small guest bathroom. I’ve had a few estimates before, ranging anywhere from $4,000 to $15,000. Over the phone, I wish the representative had asked me more specific questions to determine whether their services were actually a good fit — it would’ve saved both of us time. Like most people, I have work and a life, and I don’t appreciate unnecessary appointments. The salesman who arrived was polite and friendly — definitely had the charm and presentation of someone in sales. But I’m not someone who buys into sales tactics easily. As soon as I mentioned I wanted white tile, he danced around the fact that they don’t offer tile at all. Instead, he tried to sell me on their plastic wall panels — saying things like, “This is better than tile, it won’t mold, it’s cheaper,” and so on. It felt like a classic hard sell. I also mentioned that I needed the bathroom window replaced, some painting, and new lighting. He then admitted, “We only do the tub/shower area.” That’s when I asked, “So why were you sent here if you only do part of the job?” Then came the price — $27,000 for just the plastic panels and tub work. Honestly, I found it absurd. When I said I wasn’t interested, he started pushing hard: calling his boss, offering a “military discount,” a discount for letting them post a sign in my yard, and so on. At that point, I had to tell him clearly: “No, thank you — I need to get back to work.”

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel
We had our master shower completely replaced & the result was beautiful! However, we were told by the sales rep that they would not only replace the shower, but would be replacing damaged areas due to the shower leak. Unfortunately, we were left with trying to dry it out ourselves over night. Also, during the install, tiles were broken in front of the shower & one of the workers stepped through the subfloor & through our first floor ceiling & dropped a hammer that broke our first floor tile. They also tilted the threshold of the shower the wrong way & didn't put on the bottom trim piece. The lead installer lied that West Shore would be handling all the damage that was caused to our property. But, when the company was contacted we were told that we would be responsible for purchasing the replacement tiles & it was not their problem. He also told us that our finance company would not be charged until all damages were repaired and completed but they put the charge through right away. Thankfully the man, Luis, that was sent to do the repairs was GREAT! He did everything necessary to clean up the mess that the original installers left. Be sure to read the fine print in West Shore's contracts.
