I am pleased with my decision to install a misting system and use Texas Mosquito Control. We had an extreme mosquito problem in a small fenced backyard surrounded by vegetation in an urban area of Dallas. I tried several other products (zappers and such) with zero results.
After 3 months of using the misting system during Summer 2014, our mosquito problem has gone from a "10" to a "3". We can use our backyard now, although I still need a citronella candles or coil to be 95% mosquito free. But considering that we literally could not walk outside without a swarm of mosquito attacks, a significant improvement has been realized that was worth the investment.
I compared Texas Mosquito Control with pitches/quotes from other providers. They are not the cheapest (by 10-20%), but they appear to be quality/service oriented and much more knowledgeable about mosquitos. I also like the fact that there was no monthly contract. So far the equipment and remote control has worked great.
Update: In November, Texas Mosquito Control refilled my system without my consent and sent me a bill. Considering the system had 30% juice remaining and that this was right before they asked to winterize/turn off the system, I was not pleased. When I called, she said an email request was sent prior but she could not find proof - because one was never sent. I've gotten all their other emails. She told me the juice retains its potency through the winter, however when selling the system the manager told me that the juice loses potency over time. I understand winter is their slow time of year, but I did not appreciate the last-ditch attempt to squeeze revenue from me right before turning the system off for the season. I would have refilled in the spring anyway but this was disappointing and slightly underhanded in my opinion.
"Thank you for your comments about our company. When I read your review, I see that your point about the late season refill is a valid one. With the proper pH of the water (which we check and balance at every visit), the liquid keeps its potency for up to two years. Over these few winter months, it will not lose any strength. Also, we prorate the cost of each refill, so you will not be charged for that amount that is still in your tank. My tank at home also had a late season fill. We would never overcharge or do anything underhanded - I apologize for not communicating better - we will make sure to handle things better in the future. If you want to, send me an email to [email protected] and I will give you my cell phone number in case you want to talk to me directly in the future.Thank you for your business."
"Thank you to [member name removed] for her business for the two years (approx.) that she was our customer. We are seeing this review 4 1/2 years after the fact. We made mistakes with Dr. Youjeong Kim's services. If my memory is correct, we replaced the remote transmitter with a new one at no charge. We learned quite a lot from the experience. - We now have a live person to answer phones. - We are better at maintaining our service vehicles with a supply of remote transmitters and other replacement parts. - We email, call or text customers prior to service calls. - Texas Mosquito Control never requires a service agreement so we must earn our clients' trust and business every day. - We have learned quite a lot over the last 5 years as we have grown - we try to be our best every day and will continue to learn."
