Superior Sprinkler Services

Called for repair of my sprinkler system at an obvious spot with standing water and system check for other leaks. Found a hidden valve directly connected to water line, which was repaired along with another spot where the line was broken. Several aged impact sprinklers were replaced with smooth stream heads. At invoice time discovered that I was being charged $150/hour for time spent, in addition to being charged at minimum double the retail price for everything -- wire, new heads, new single-valve box, PVC pipe, and unbelievable SIX cans of glue and primer. The hourly rate was nearly the same as a recent attorney appointment, and close to technicians at the luxury car dealerships. I had hoped that management would recognize the overcharges and contact me for a reimbursement for ethical business reasons, but nothing yet. Meanwhile I have notified my community via the community website to think twice about using these folks. Most were asking for references for a good sprinkler system repair company after the freeze last winter.

After receiving a joke of an estimate/assessment from this company, I accepted the work to be done. On the day of the scheduled work they never called and never showed up. I contacted them and was told they scheduled me 4 days later- without ever telling me or confirming any change with me. I'm now left scrambling to find someone else to do the work. STAY AWAY!

They've been extremely poor. The installation initially was poorly done. We asked them to come out and repair a few things. They didn't do that correctly. I would never use them again. The price was good. I selected them mainly on the basis of price. But, they did a very poor job.

The initial service call went okay, however it was clear shortly thereafter the main problem (back lawn sprinkler leaking causing a large puddle) was not fixed.  The provider promised come right out and fix the issue, but on multiple occasions told me he would come by and did not arrive.  He was too busy with other customers.  Eventually, on the third or fourth try (at this point many weeks after the initial service), he did arrive and fix the issue (it was a misdiagnosis first time around).  What was perhaps most troubling was the lack of concern from the head office for this issue.  I was told that since the technician messed up, he would need to fix it, implying it was not the company's problem.  The lack of customer service was appalling and I strongly encourage people to stay away from this company.  There are many excellent sprinkler service companies in the DFW area, there's no need to mess around with this low quality outfit.

They are the most incompetent people I have ever met. I would never suggest them to anyone. I was very unhappy with their services. The man was filthy, and got mud and dirt all over my home. He was unable to fix my sprinkler system on the first attempt, and came back a second timeand  it is still not operating correctly. I made an appointment with them, took off work, and the technician was two hours late, and unless I called them they would not have shown up at all because they had misplaced my appointment.

I am very suspect of Superior Sprinkler's billing and pricing practices.  I had them to my home two times, once in lat October and the second in early November.  On the second visit, they charged me for something that was supposed to be fixed the first time.  I have spoken to owner Joe and his office 4 times since late November and each time they have said they will refund me $50.00.  To date, I have not received the money and it has been three months since I was told I would receive it.  Joe does not do what he promises.

I just bought a house and I don't know anything about the sprinkler system other than it doesn't work.  These guys came out and said the control box needed to be replaced and it would be $300.  I ok'ed the repair and that was fine.  Once that was replaced the system still didn't work so they said they'd have to figure out what was going on and it may take an hour or two since I didn't know the layout of my sprinkler system.  I ok'ed that too. 

Two hours later I asked where they were at.  They said they had found the valves but they weren't getting water and they didn't know why.  They had disassembled some pipes next to the valves as well.  They told me that they thought the some valve was off and they'd need to dig down 4-6 feet to find this valve.  They also told me that basically they didn't know what was wrong yet but it was going to cost $2,000-$4,000 to fix it.  At this point I asked them to leave.

The next day different company came out and spent 15 minutes here.  In that time they had the water running to the valves and knew exactly what needed to be fixed.  My valves are about 20 years old and need to be replaced.  And oh, by the way, the pipes I said the other guys took apart.. they broke them and they need to be replaced too.  $1,500 total.

I don't know if these guys intentionally ripped me off or if they just don't know what they're doing.  Either way, don't use them.

They made the repairs and conducted an assessment of the system.   They were on time and very professional.

It went slowly because in the process of fixing the broken water pipe, the technician cut the wires.  When he (the tech) went to test the fix to the pipe, the sprinklers wouldn't work.  My husband asked the technician several times if he could have cut the wire and he kept saying no.  Another technician showed up and they re-checked the wires which were cut.  They fixed the wires and the sprinkler worked again.

Maybe it was naive but I wanted an estimate of how much it would cost to
repair my sprinkler system before I signed up for the service.
I spoke with three other repair companies but none of them were willing to
provide such an estimate. Each wanted to send someone to my home at so much per hour (or half hour) to fix the problem.
This all changed when Mac called from Superior Sprinkler Services.  While he wasn't going to come out to my home
and give me an estimate, he was willing to talk me through my system even letting me send him pictures
of the installation so he could determine a ball-park figure for the work required. 
His guess was so close it was scary!  And it was with no pressure.  I was sold.
The team sent to do the work was prompt, friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable.
All-in-all well worth the research to find this company.  
Growing up in the country where we often make do, I'm always looking for the best deal I can find.  Otherwise, I feel I should
have done it myself.  In this case, the tools they had enabled them to find the problem without digging up my yard other than
at the problem.  A big plus! The discount for an Angie's list customer was a plus too.

They found a broke underground valve which they said they fixed. The valve still leaks. They also said they inspected all sprinkler heads. Which I am not sure they did because I have found a couple of heads that are loose. All called them back and left a message detailing the problems. They never returned my phone call.
They charged approx 550.00 for the service call. They were at my residence for about 2 hours. I would not use them ever. Just the worst.

I called two other companies before calling this one.  The first company couldn't come out for three weeks.  That was unacceptable as I had a leak that needed fixing now.  I called another company and got their voicemail.  So I called Superior Sprinkler Services and they came out the next day.  The tech was a little late showing up because of a communication problem within the company, but once he arrived, he diagnosed the problem quickly and correctly.  The leak is now fixed and I am pleased with the work.
