SUN CARPET

My husband and I purchased our carpet from a local retailer who subcontracted the installation to Sun Carpet in Farmers Branch. From our initial call to Ken to schedule the installation to the actual date of installation we were very impressed by their customer service and quality workmanship! We had previously used a different flooring subcontractor and unfortunately had a bad experience. Ken was polite and professional on the phone and followed up to make sure we were pleased with their service. The employees he sent to our home were very respectful of our belongings, the noise and our time. They worked tirelessly all day to complete the project and couldn’t have done a better job. They made sure our home was spotless before leaving. We highly recommend Sun Carpet and will absolutely use them again in the future!

I would give them high regards. The crew that did the hardwood floors and ceramic tile were great. We bought the products from another place but Sun Carpet installed it. They were done two days after they had said that they would be.

I stripped old linoleum flooring from my kitchen, a bedroom and the utility room, then purchased the new flooring from Lowe's. They sent Sun as their subcontractor to measure areas and also the amount of moisture content in these areas.  Unfortunately the moisture level was too high - so I followed up with having a master plumber and foundation contact check for any leaks - none found.  Then had an epoxy flooring laid over all the areas - but when Sun measured again, moisture content considered still too high for them to lay regular flooring.  I ended up exchanging my original floor material with a similar color in a 'floating floor' wide plank format - which was considered safe to lay.  (These floors will never move again!)
Once new floor materials were delivered by Lowe's,  Sun Carpet installers were prompt in scheduling the install, workers on time, and completed the work in one day by working from 7:00 am - 6:00 pm. 

Started out smooth. Then I got the line. We need more floor leveling compound. Now mind you Lowes said about 15% or so of my flooring would likely need leveling (house built in 2007). Cool. So I bought enough to cover 40% of my sq. footage expecting that I'll return the unopened bags. That covered all of the FIRST 40% OF MY HOME! I had read about this with this company and it was happening. They "needed more material to finish". They offered to pick it up for which I declined. I had already read that this was a recoup tactic to make up for there low ball deal with Lowes to be an installer by over-using materials. This company will charge you to pick up the additional materials "needed". After an additional almost 1k of leveler (thankfully Lowes discounted me after I showed them prior reviews with this tactic) I returned and specifically stated that I was paying no more and that they needed to finish the job as quoted. They did so quietly.

2 weeks later a smaller vestibule section of our floors was shifting under the weight of my 3 year old to the point that there were concrete (actually leveler) gaps showing through at almost a 1/4" wide. My wife called to have it fixed. They came out the next day.........AND CAULKED IT INTO PLACE! YOU CAN SEE THE CAULKING ON THE FLOOR!

Can this company get floors down in a straight line yes....but you had better be there to watch them every step of the way. Also, despite all of the leveler, I still have spongy spots.

I hired Sun Carpet last year to install carpeting in my office, and I called them again this year to install carpet in my bedroom and adjoining closet.  Their installers did a professional job.  Ken was extremely helpful both times assisting me with determining the yardage of carpet I needed to order, as my rooms were larger than 12' wide, and there are ways to cut and lay the carpet in the most economical way with less waste.   I experienced very, very friendly people and great customer service from the business office (Ken), and they sent a quality  installation team  both times.
I would recommend them highly, as you will enjoy the experience.....and the people!
